Abstract

Muhammad Zaki Annasyat (1607383). Hubungan Kebiasaan Membaca Novel dengan Keterampilan Menulis Narasi Siswa Kelas 7 SMP Plus Al Aqsha. Skripsi Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Sains Informasi, Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (2022). Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan teori Keefe dan Copeland (2011, hlm. 96) mengenai prinsip-prinsip definisi literasi sebagai titik pijak awal untuk memulai penelitian. Teori tersebut mengatakan bahwa definisi literasi harus bersifat inklusif. Artinya definisi literasi dapat diakses semua orang dan digunakan sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner dan tes. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 7 SMP Plus Al Aqsha jumlah 40 orang menggunakan PurposiveRandom Sampling berdasarkan kelompok nilai. Jumlah responden juga telah memenuhi syarat ukuran sampel yang layak yakni 30 sampai 500. Adapun hipotesis dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara kebiasaan membaca novel dengan keterampilan menulis narasi siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti memperoleh tingkat kebiasaan membaca novel dan keterampilan menulis narasi berada pada kategori sedang. Selain itu, berdasarkan hasil pengujianstatistika, peneliti memperoleh hasil bahwa kebiasaan membaca novel memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan keterampilan menulis narasi. Namun, karena derajat hubungannya rendah, artinya kebiasaan membaca novel bukan merupakan faktor utama dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis narasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan rekomendasi kepada SMP Plus Al Aqsha terkait literasi dan memperbanyak diskursus mengenai membaca dan menulis. The theory assumes that the definition of literacy must be inclusive. This means that it can be accessed by everyone and used as needed. This research is quantitative research with descriptive method. The data collection technique in this study was using questionnaires and tests. Respondents in this study were 7th grade students of SMP Plus Al Aqsa totaling 40 people using purposive random sampling based on group values. The number of respondents also met the requirements for a decentsample size of 30 to 500. The Hypothesis in this study is that there is a relationship between the habit of reading novels and students narrative writing skills. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the level of novel reading habits and narrative writing skills were in the medium category. In addition, based on the results of statistical tests, the results obtained that the habit of reading novels has a positive and significant relationship with narrative writing skills. However, due to the low degree of relationship, it means that the habit of reading novels is not the main factor in improving narrative writing skills. The results of this study are expected to provide recommendations to SMP Plus Al Aqsa related to literacy and increase the discourse on reading and writing.
