Abstract

Pembelajaran merupakan proses hubungan antara siswa dengan pendidik, yang mana pendidik memberikan ilmu-ilmu yang dimiliki dan siswa menerima serta mengembangkannya sehingga siswa tersebut mengerti akan ilmu yang diberikan oleh pendidiknya. Data BPS tahun 2012 mengatakan bahwa masyarakat Indonesia lebih memilih untuk menonton televisi dibandingkan membaca buku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V di SDN 1 Nagrikaler. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian pre-eksperimen dengan desain one group pre-test post-test. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini ialah kelas V sekolah dasar dengan jumlah 20 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes pre-test, post-test dan lembar observasi siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman membaca siswa mengalami peningkatan. Dilihat dari nilai hasil pre-test dan post-test memiliki rata-rata dari sebesar 81,3 menjadi 90,9, dengan presentase keseluruhan indikator kemampuan membaca pemahman sebesar 86,13% menjadi 87,27%. Hasil uji T menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V dengan hasil uji > 0,005. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran CIRC dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V di SDN 1 Nagrikaler, Kab Purwakarta. BPS data in 2012 said that Indonesian people prefer to watch television rather than read books. This research aims to determine the effect of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model on the reading comprehension skills of grade V students at SDN 1 Nagrikaler. The researcher used pre-experiment research method with one group pre-test post-test design. The population and sample in this study were grade V elementary school with a total of 20 students. The instruments used were pre-test, post-test and student observation sheets. The results showed that, on average, students' reading comprehension skills improved. Judging from the value of the pre-test and post-test results has an average of 81.3 to 90.9, with an overall percentage of reading comprehension ability indicators from 86.13% to 87.27%. The T test results show that there is an influence on the reading comprehension skills of grade V students with test results > 0.005. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the CIRC learning model can affect the reading comprehension skills of grade V students at SDN 1 Nagrikaler, Purwakarta District.
