Farah Zhafirah, - (2023) PENGARUH KONTROL DIRI TERHADAP NOMOPHOBIA YANG DIMEDIASI FEAR OF MISSING OUT (FOMO) PADA GENERASI Z DI BANDUNG RAYA. S1 thesis, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the role of fear of missing out (FOMO) in mediating the effect of self-control on nomophobia in Generation Z in Bandung Raya. This study uses a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling in the form of accidental sampling with a sample of 502 Generation Z people in Bandung Raya, aged 18-24 years. The instruments in this study used three scales, namely the Brief Self-Control Scale (BSCS) (13 items; α = 0.88), the Fear of Missing Out Scale (FOMOs) (7 items; α = 0.79), and the Nomophobia Quistionnaire (NMP-Q) (18 items; α = 0.95). The data analysis technique used is linear regression and path regression. In addition, this study also uses the Sobel test to test the mediation hypothesis. The results of this study indicate that (1) there is a significant negative effect on self-control on nomophobia, (2) there is a significant negative effect on self-control on the fear of missing out, (FOMO) (3) there is a significant effect on the fear of missing out missing out (FOMO) on nomophobia, and (4) fear of missing out (FOMO) significantly mediates the effect of self-control on nomophobia in Generation Z in Bandung Raya.
