Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan Hanche Presley : Fenomena Elvis Tribute Artist. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui motivasi meniru dan cara Hanche Presley merepresentasikan Elvis Presley semirip mungkin. Peneliti ingin menggambarkan secara jelas tentang objek penelitian melalui fenomena yang dialami narasumber terkait. Untuk mengupas persoalan diatas digunakan pendekatan fenomenologi dari sudut pandang Hanche Presley sebagai tribute artist. Data-data primer diperoleh dari narasumber yang telah ditentukan yaitu Hanche Presley dan Deny Basky (manager dari Hanche Presley). Sementara data sekunder diperoleh dari berbagai literature baik buku, jurnal dan sosial media yang kredibel yakni Youtube dan Instagram. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Hanche Presley berkeinginan untuk meniru Elvis Presley karena ia mempunyai minat yang kuat, potensi khas dan dukungan dari lingkungan sekitarnya. Hanche Presley adalah seseorang musisi yang ulet dan jeli sehingga ia bisa menirukan detail-detail dari Elvis Presley baik dari kostum, gaya bernyanyi, gaya rambut. Beliau memulai menjadi impersonator pada tahun 1993 sehingga diakui menjadi Elvis tribute artist Asia pada tahun 2004. This study describes Hanche Presley: The Elvis Tribute Artist Phenomenon. The purpose of this research is to find out the motivation to imitate and how Hanche Presley represents Elvis Presley as closely as possible. Researchers want to clearly describe the object of research through the phenomena experienced by related sources. To explore the above issues, a phenomenological approach is used from the point of view of Hanche Presley as a tribute artist. Primary data were obtained from predetermined sources, namely Hanche Presley and Deny Basky (manager of Hanche Presley). While secondary data was obtained from various literature, both books, journals and credible social media, namely Youtube and Instagram. The results of this study indicate that Hanche Presley wanted to imitate Elvis Presley because he had a strong interest, unique potential and support from his surroundings. Hanche Presley was a musician who was tenacious and observant so that he could imitate the details of Elvis Presley both from costumes, singing styles, hairstyles. He started as an impersonator in 1993 so that he was recognized as an Elvis tribute artist in Asia in 2004.
