Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh proses pembelajaran yang masih bersifat monoton dan membosankan sehingga pembelajaran hanya bersifat transfer ilmu saja. Hal ini menyebabkan timbulnya permasalahan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui prosedur pembelajaran berbasis tugas penyusunan peta konsep, 2) mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, dan 3) mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran yang memberi tugas penyusunan peta konsep terhadap berpikir kritis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitiannya yaitu Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas kelas XI IPS 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPS 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrument berupa tes dan lembar observasi. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon dan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Prosedur pemberian tugas yang dilakukan oleh guru kepada peserta didik terdiri dari memberikan pretest terlebih dahulu, kemudian melaksanakan pembelajaran dengan metode peta konsep, setelah itu guru memberikan posttest kepada peserta didik, 2) Secara umum kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa meningkat. Indicator yang paling tinggi adalah membuat kesimpulan dengan nilai 82% dan termasuk kategori sangat baik, sedangkan indicator yang paling rendah adalah mengatur strategi dan taktik dengan nilai 67% dan termasuk kategori baik, 3) Adanya pengaruh keterampilan Menyusun peta konsep terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Disimpulkan bahwa metode pembelajaran peta konsep berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan berpikir kritis siswa. The research was motivated by the learning process which is still monotonous and boring so that learning is only a transfer of knowledge. This causes the problem of low critical thinking skills of students. This research aims to: 1) to know the learning procedure based on concept map preparation task, 2) to know the critical thinking ability of students, and 3) to know the effect of learning that gives concept map preparation task on critical thinking. The research method used is experimental method with the research design is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of XI IPS 2 class as the experimental class and XI IPS 1 class as the control class. Instrument in the form of tests and observation sheets. Data analysis used Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed: 1) The procedure for assigning tasks carried out by the teacher to students consists of giving a pretest first, then carrying out learning with the concept map method, after which the teacher gives a posttest to students, 2) In general, students' critical thinking skills improved. The highest indicator is making conclusions with a value of 82% and is included in the very good category, while the lowest indicator is organizing strategies and tactics with a value of 67% and is included in the good category, 3) There is an influence of the skill of compiling concept maps on students' critical thinking skills. It is concluded that the concept map learning method affects the development of students' critical thinking.
