Abstract

Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis adalah kemampuan dasar yang dimiliki oleh siswa untuk memahami hingga mengaplikasikannya pada suatu permasalahan. Untuk mengetahui seberapa jauh pemahaman konsep matematis siswa, digunakan teori APOS sebagai pisau analisis dengan Teorema Pythagoras sebagai topik bahasan. Self-efficacy merupakan salah satu faktor personal yang dapat berpengaruh pada kemampuan matematika seseorang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam penyelesaian soal Teorema Pythagoras yang dianalisis berdasarkan Teori APOS
yang ditinjau dari self-efficacy. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Responden dari penelitian ini sebanyak 31 orang siswa kelas IX salah satu SMP negeri di Kota Bandung yang selanjutnya dipilih 6 siswa
dari berbagai tingkat self-efficacy untuk dijadikan subjek penelitian, yaitu 2 orang siswa dengan tingkat self-efficacy tinggi, 2 orang siswa dengan tingkat self-efficacy sedang, dan 2 orang siswa dengan tingkat self-efficacy rendah. Pengumpulan data berupa angket self-efficacy, tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (i)
kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi Teorema Pythagoras yang dianalisis berdasarkan teori APOS dengan self-efficacy tinggi dapat mencapai
seluruh tahapan teori APOS, yaitu tahap aksi, proses, objek, dan skema; (ii) kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi Teorema Pythagoras yang dianalisis berdasarkan teori APOS dengan self-efficacy sedang dapat mencapai tahap aksi, proses, dan objek. Sedangkan tahap skema belum tercapai dengan maksimal; (iii) kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi Teorema Pythagoras yang dianalisis berdasarkan teori APOS dengan self-efficacy rendah belum mampu mencapai tahap proses, objek, dan skema. Subjek hanya mencapai tahap aksi.
Mathematical concept understanding ability is the basic ability that students have to understand until applying it to a problem. To find out how far the understanding of the mathematical concepts of students, APOS theory is used as an analysis knife with Pythagorean Theorem as a topic of the subject. Self-efficacy is one of the personal factors that can affect a person’s mathematical abilities. This study aims to describe students’ mathematical concept understanding ability in solving the Pythagorean Theorem analyzed based on APOS Theory reviewed from self-efficacy. The method
used is a qualitative approach with the case study method. Respondents of this study were 31 students of IX grade of one of the junior high school in Bandung City which subsequently selected 6 students from various levels of self-efficacy to be used as a research subject, namely 2 students with high self-efficacy levels, 2 students with medium self-efficacy levels, and 2 students with low self-efficacy levels. The instruments used are self-efficacy questionnaires, test of mathematical concept
understanding ability, interviews, and documentation studies. The results showed that: (i) students' mathematical concept understanding ability in the Pythagorean Theorem material analysed based on APOS theory with high self-efficacy can
achieve all stages of APOS theory, namely the stage of action, process, object, and scheme; (ii) students' mathematical concept understanding ability in the Pythagorean Theorem material analysed based on APOS theory with medium selfefficacy is able to reach the stage of action, process, and object. While the schema stage has not been achieved to the
maximum; (iii) students' mathematical concept understanding
ability in the Pythagorean Theorem material analysed based on APOS theory with low self-efficacy has not been able to reach the process stage, object, and scheme. The subject only reaches the action stage.
