Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh minat baca siswa yang masih rendah serta kurangnya pemanfaatan model, teknik, dan media dalam kegiatan pembelajaran membaca. Selain itu, siswa dapat membaca namun belum mampu memahami dan menginterpretasikan isi bacaan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengembangkan model CORE (Connecting Organizing Reflecting Extending) berbantuan adobe flash dalam pembelajaran membaca kritis di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) berdasarkan pola pengembangan Dick and Carey (2009) yang mencakup sepuluh tahapan penelitian dan pengembangan. Secara garis besar, pada tahap perencanaan dihasilkan analisis kebutuhan guru dan siswa yang kemudian digunakan sebagai dasar pengembangan rancangan model pembelajaran. Pada tahap pengembangan dihasilkan model pembelajaran CORE dengan teknik membaca OK4R (Overview, Key, Read, Recall, Reflect, Review) berbantuan adobe flash melalui tahapan model pembelajaran Joyce Weil. Pada tahap evaluasi divalidasi dan dievaluasi secara keseluruhan pengembangan model CORE dengan teknik membaca OK4R berbantuan adobe flash dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Singaparna, SMAN 2 Singaparna, dan MAN 2 Tasikmalaya yang dipilih secara acak. Uji kelayakan model pembelajaran menggunakan validasi dari lima orang ahli yang menghasilkan rata-rata perolehan skor 94% pada tahap validasi pertama dan 100% pada validasi kedua. Keterpakaian model pembelajaran didapatkan berdasarkan angket respons guru, angket terbuka dan angket tertutup siswa. Angket guru dengan persentase rata-rata menjawab setuju 25% dan sangat setuju 75%. Angket tertutup siswa lebih dari 84% setuju tentang keterpakaian model. Dari angket terbuka responden memberikan respons yang baik terhadap pengembangan model pembelajaran CORE berbantuan adobe flash, menurut responden media dan model yang diterapkan merupakan hal yang dapat membantu meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengembangan model CORE berbantuan adobe flash efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca kritis dan membuat siswa aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. This research is motivated by students' low interest in reading and the lack of utilization of models, techniques, and media in reading learning activities. In addition, students can read but have not been able to understand and interpret the contents of the reading. The research aims to develop the CORE (Connecting Organizing Reflecting Extending) model with the help of Adobe Flash in teaching critical reading in senior high schools. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method based on the development pattern of Dick and Carey (2009) which includes ten stages of research and development. Broadly speaking, at the planning stage an analysis of the needs of teachers and students is produced which is then used as the basis for the development of a learning model design. At the development stage, the CORE learning model was produced with the OK4R reading technique assisted by Adobe Flash through the stages of the Joyce Weil learning model. At the evaluation stage, the development of the CORE model was validated and evaluated with the OK4R (Overview, Key, Read, Recall, Reflect, Review) reading technique assisted by Adobe Flash with research subjects of class XI students at SMAN 1 Singaparna, SMAN 2 Singaparna, and MAN 2 Tasikmalaya who were selected randomly. The feasibility test of the learning model uses validation from five experts which was resulted in an average score of 94% in the first validation stage and 100% in the second validation. The usability of the learning model was obtained based on teacher response questionnaires, open questionnaires and closed questionnaires for students. Teacher questionnaires with an average percentage of 25% agreed and 75% strongly agreed. Closed questionnaire students more than 84% agree about the usability of the model. From an open questionnaire, respondents gave a good response to the development of the CORE learning model assisted by Adobe Flash, according to respondents, the media and models applied are things that can help improve the quality of learning. In conclusion, the development of the CORE model assisted by Adobe Flash is effective to improve critical reading skills and made students stay active in learning activities.
