Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena perilaku penelusuran informasi kaum muda di era digital yang mengalami perubahan menyangkut perubahan bentuk dan wujud penelusuran informasi, perubahan perspektif, serta perubahan batasan. Dari perubahan-perubahan tersebut muncul karakteristik yang mendeskripsikan kecenderungan kaum muda di era digital dalam mengakses informasi. Kemudian ditengah perkembangan era digital ini, Perpustakaan Telkom University memiliki layanan sistem open library yang memiliki kebermanfaatan dan kemudahan untuk mengakses informasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kontribusi antara layanan sistem open library terhadap perilaku penelusuran informasi kaum muda, dalam penelitian ini yang dimaksud kaum muda adalah mahasiswa. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian korelasional. Instrumen penelitian pada penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner dengan skala pengukuran menggunakan Skala Likert. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah anggota perpustakaan yang merupakan mahasiswa Telkom University jenjang sarjana. Adapun pengambilan sampel penelitian ditentukan melalui teknik Purposive Sampling dan dari penghitungan jumlah sampel menggunakan rumus Slovin diperoleh jumlah sampel sebanyak 100 orang. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi rank spearman karena data yang diperoleh berbentuk ordinal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara layanan sistem open library dengan perilaku penelusuran informasi mahasiswa dengan nilai correlation coefficient 0,435 dikategorikan sedang. Hubungan antara layanan sistem open library memiliki hubungan dengan arah positif terhadap perilaku penelusuran informasi mahasiswa. Kemudian uji signifikansi menggunakan taraf keberartian α = 0,05 menghasilkan nilai 0,00 antara layanan sistem open library dengan perilaku penelusuran informasi mahasiswa, disimpulkan bahwa terdapat kontribusi yang signifikan. Kata Kunci : Perilaku Penelusuran Informasi, Sistem Open Library, Digital Native The background of the study was the phenomenon of information seeking behavior of youth in the digital era which has undergone changes regarding changes in the shape and form of information seeking, changes in perspective, and changes in boundaries. These changes emerge characteristics that describe the tendency of youth in the digital era to access information. In the midst of the digital era development, the Telkom University Library has an open library system service that has the usefulness and ease to access information. The objective of the study was to determine the contribution of open library system services to youth information seeking behavior, youth in the study were university students. The method used in the study was a correlational research method. The instrument in the study used a questionnaire with a measurement scale using a Likert Scale. The population of the study were library members who were undergraduate students at Telkom University. The sample of the study was determined through the purposive sampling and from calculating the number of samples using the Slovin formula, the number of samples was 100 people. The data was analyzed by Spearman rank correlation test because the data obtained was in ordinal form. The result of the study showed that there is a correlation between open library system services and student information seeking behavior with a correlation coefficient value of 0.435 which is categorized as moderate. The relationship between open library system services has a positive relationship with students information seeking behavior. The result of significance test using significance level a = 0.05 was 0.00 of open library system services to student information seeking behavior, in conclusion there is a significant contribution.
