Abstract
Penelitian ini memiliki latar belakang perbedaan hasil penelitian berbagai model berorientasi HOTS terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa yang beragam sehingga diperlukan penelitian lanjut secara menyeluruh atas penelitian-penelitian yang telah dilakukan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini yakni memiliki kesimpulan besar secara jelas dari berbagai penelitian yang telah ada mengenai penelitian penggunaan model berorientasi HOTS terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis. Studi ini dilakukan dengan metode kuantitatif pendekatan meta-analisis dengan sumber data primer dari penelitian yang telah dipublikasi. Sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi yang ditetapkan, didapatkan hasil pengolahan data yakni: (1) Hasil ukuran efek secara keseluruhan adalah g = 0,270 dalam hal ini ukuran efek secara keseluruhan tersebut memiliki kategori ukuran efek yang kecil terhadap kemampuan matematis dan termasuk data yang heterogen sehingga dapat dilihat kembali perbedaan melalui variabel moderator yang ditentukan; (2) Tidak terdapat perbedaan pada karakteristik studi jenjang pendidikan artinya jenjang pendidikan bukan sebagai penyebab heterogenitas kemampuan representasi matematis siswa melalui model pembelajaran berorientasi HOTS; (3) Terdapat perbedaan pada karakteristik studi ukuran sampel sebagai penyebab heterogenitas kemampuan representasi matematis siswa melalui model pembelajaran berorientasi HOTS dengan hasil yang lebih baik dilakukan dengan kapasitas kelas maksimal 30 siswa; (4) Tidak terdapat perbedaan mengenai karakteristik materi pembelajaran, artinya bukan sebagai penyebab heterogenitas kemampuan representasi matematis siswa melalui model pembelajaran berorientasi HOTS; dan (5) Terdapat perbedaan pada karakteristik studi demografi penelitian sebagai penyebab heterogenitas kemampuan representasi matematis siswa melalui model pembelajaran berorientasi HOTS dengan keterangan kategori Pulau Jawa memiliki ukuran efek paling besar. This study has a background of differences in the results of various HOTS on the various mathematical representation abilities of students, so further research is needed as a whole on the studies that have been carried out. The purpose of this study is to have clear major conclusions from various existing studies regarding research on the use of HOTS on mathematical representation ability. This study was conducted using a quantitative meta-analysis approach with primary data sources from published research. In accordance with the established inclusion criteria, the results of data processing were obtained, namely: (1) The overall effect size result was g = 0.270 in this case the overall effect size has a small effect size category on mathematical ability and includes heterogeneous data so that it can be seen returns the difference through the specified moderator variable; (2) There is no difference in the study characteristics of the level of education, meaning that the level of education is not the cause of the heterogeneity of students' mathematical representation abilities through the HOTS; (3) There are differences in the characteristics of the sample size studies as the cause of the heterogeneity of students' mathematical representation abilities through the HOTS with better results with a maximum class capacity of 30 students; (4) There is no difference regarding the characteristics of learning material, meaning that it is not the cause of the heterogeneity of students' mathematical representation abilities through the HOTS; and (5) There are differences in the characteristics of the research demographic study as the cause of the heterogeneity of students' mathematical representation abilities through the HOTS with the description of the Java Island category having the largest effect size.
