Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan penalaran matematis yang memperoleh pembelajaran project-based learning dan pembelajaran langsung ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi eksperimen dan pretest posttest control grup design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa salah satu SMP Swasta di Kabupaten Cirebon. Sampel penelitian ini siswa kelas VIII A untuk kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas VIII B untuk kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa berupa pretes dan posttest serta angket gaya belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan: 1). Kemampuan penalaran matematis yang memperoleh pembelajaran project-based learning termasuk kategori tinggi dan yang memperoleh pembelajaran langsung termasuk kategori sedang, sedangkan gaya belajar siswa tertinggi pada gaya belajar siswa auditori, gaya belejar visual dan gaya belajar kinestetik. 2). Peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran project-based learning lebih tinggi yang signifikan daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran langsung. 3). Tidak ada perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan penalaran matematis yang signifikan ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa. This study aims to analyze the ability of mathematical reasoning that obtains project-based learning and conventional learning in terms of student learning styles. This study uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methods and Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were all students of a private junior high school in Cirebon Regency. The sample of this study was students of class VIII A for the experimental class and students of class VIII B for the control class. The instrument used was a test of students' mathematical reasoning abilities in the form of a pretest and posttest and a student learning style questionnaire. The results of this study show: 1). Mathematical reasoning abilities who get project-based learning are in the high category and those who get conventional learning are in the medium category, while the highest student learning styles are in auditory learning styles, visual learning styles and kinesthetic learning styles. 2). The increase in the mathematical reasoning abilities of students who received project-based learning was significantly higher than students who received conventional learning. 3). There is no significant difference in increasing mathematical reasoning abilities in terms of students' learning styles.
