Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan latar belakang kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis teks pidato di kelas. Tujuan penelian ini yaitu untuk mendskripsikan (1) kemampuan menulis teks pidato sebelum menggunakan model Times Games Tournament (TGT), (2) kemampuan menulis teks pidato sesudah menggunakan model Teams Games Tournament (TGT), dan (3) perbedaan antara kemampuan menulis teks pidato sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model Times Games Tournament (TGT). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain pretest dan posttest. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX I SMPN 1 Rajapolah tahun ajar 2022/2023. Berdasarkan hasil data yang diteliti, rata-rata sebelum menggunakan model model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) yaitu 71, hal ini yang membuktikan siswa belum mampu menulis teks pidato, sedangkan rata-rata nilai sesudah menggunakan model model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) yaitu 83,56 yang membuktian siswa sudah mampu menulis teks pidato. Berdasarkan hasil uji parametric t-test nilai signifikan (sig. 2- tailed) 0,000 ≤ 0,05, karena nilai (sig. 2-tailed) yaitu 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05 maka H1 diterima atau H0 ditolak. Artinya yaitu ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis teks pidato sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan Teams Games Tournament (TGT). Hal ini menunjukkan model Teams Games Tournament (TGT) bisa meningkatkan kemampuan manulis teks pidato ka siswa kelas IX I SMPN 1 Rajapolah. ; This research was conducted based on the background of the students' lack of skills in writing speech texts in class. The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the ability to write speech texts before using the Times Games Tournament (TGT) model, (2) the ability to write speech texts after using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model, and (3) the difference between the ability to write speech texts before and after using the Times Games Tournament (TGT) model. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental method using pretest and posttest designs. The data sources in this study were students of class IX I SMPN 1 Rajapolah in the 2022/2023 academic year. Based on the results of the data studied, the average score before using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model is 71, this proves that students have not been able to write speech texts, while the average score after using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model is 83 ,56 which proves that students are able to write speech texts. Based on the results of the parametric t-test, the significant value (sig. 2-tailed) is 0.000 0.05, because the value (sig. 2-tailed) is 0.000 less than 0.05, then H1 is accepted or H0 is rejected. This means that there is a significant difference between the ability to write speech texts before and after using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT). This shows that the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model can improve speech writing skills for grade IX I SMPN 1 Rajapolah students.
