Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh suatu kondisi yang muncul setelah dilakukannya penilaian akhir semester, yang mana terdapat beberapa siswa yang mengeluhkan tentang butir soal yang diberikan. Sedangkan, kualitas butir soal penilaian akhir semester ini merupakan salah satu aspek yang sangat mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas butir soal penilaian akhir semester kelas X pada mata pelajaran sejarah Indonesia di SMAN 1 dan 2 Tebing Tinggi yang ditinjau dari dua cara yaitu cara kualitatif (substansi, konstruksi, dan bahasa) dan cara kuantitatif (perancangan, analisis reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran soal, daya pembeda soal, tingkat pengecoh soal). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Yang terbagi ke dalam rumusan masalah, diantaranya 1) Bagaimana guru merancang soal penilaian akhir semester; 2) Bagaimana kualitas butir soal penilaian akhir semester; dan 3) Bagaimana tanggapan siswa terkait soal penilaian akhir semester. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kualitas butir soal penilaian akhir semester mata pelajaran sejarah di SMA Negeri 1 Tebing Tinggi berada pada kategori baik, sedangkan kualitas butir soal SMA Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi berada pada kategori cukup baik. Perbedaan kualitas tersebut muncul disebabkan oleh kelengkapan guru ketika merancang soal. Hasil yang muncul telah selaras dengan tanggapan yang diberikan oleh siswa di dua sekolah tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan yang telah diuraikan pada skripsi ini, dapat disusun suatu simpulan bahwa dibutuhkan proses lanjutan oleh guru berupa tahapan evaluasi soal setelah PAS dilaksanakan. Sebagai tahap akhir peneliti juga menyampaikan rekomendasi kepada beberapa pihak diantaranya yaitu kepada guru sejarah dan kepada peneliti selanjutnya. ABSTRACT This research was motivated by a condition that arose after the end of semester assessment was carried out, in which there were several students who complained about the items given. Meanwhile, the quality of the final semester assessment items is one of the aspects that greatly influences student learning outcomes. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the quality of the end of semester assessment questions for class X on Indonesian history at SMAN 1 and 2 Tebing Tinggi in terms of two methods, namely the qualitative method (substance, construction, and language) and the quantitative method (design , reliability analysis, item difficulty level, item discriminating power, item deception level). This study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Which is divided into the formulation of the problem, including 1) How do teachers design end-of-semester assessment questions; 2) How is the quality of the final semester assessment items; and 3) How are students' responses related to the end of semester assessment questions. The results of this study are that the quality of the items for the end of semester assessment of history at SMA Negeri 1 Tebing Tinggi is in the good category, while the quality of the items at SMA Negeri 2 Tebing Tinggi is in the fairly good category. The difference in quality arises due to the completeness of the teacher when designing questions. The results that emerged were in line with the responses given by students in the two schools. Based on the results of the research and discussion that have been described in this thesis, a conclusion can be drawn that a further process is needed by the teacher in the form of a question evaluation stage after the PAS is implemented. As the final stage, the researcher also made recommendations to several parties, including the history teacher and the next researcher.
