Abstract
Berangkat dari kesulitan subjek JA dalam membaca permulaan dan ketertarikan subjek terhadap gambar yang berwarna, menginspirasi peneliti untuk meneliti penggunaan media puzzle kata bergambar dalam meningkatkan kemampuannya dalam membaca suku kata berpola KV dan KV-KV. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah media puzzle kata bergambar berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak tunagrahita ringan kelas 4 SLB Negeri Banjar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan desain A-B-A’. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mean level pada fase baseline-1 (A-1) sebesar 35,11%, kemudian pada fase intervensi (B) sebesar 53,03% dan untuk fase baseline-2 (A-2) sebesar 58,32%, hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan subjek mengalami peningkatan. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media puzzle kata bergambar terhadap peningkatan kemampuan subjek JA dalam membaca permulaan yakni pada aspek membaca suku kata berpola KV dan KV-KV. Media ini dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif bagi guru dalam pembelajaran membaca permulaan. Departing from the difficulty of the JA subject in initial reading and the subject's interest in colorful images, inspired researchers to research the use of illustrated word puzzle media in improving their ability to read letters, syllables and words. This study aims to find out whether the media of illustrated word puzzles has an effect in improving initial reading skills in children with mild intellectual disabled in grade 4 SLB Negeri Banjar. The research method used is Single Subject Research (SSR) with A-B-A' design. The results showed that the mean level in the baseline-1 phase (A-1) was 35.11%, then in the intervention phase (B) it was 53.03% and for the baseline-2 (A-2) phase it was 58.32%, it showed that the subject's ability increased. It was concluded that there was an influence on the use of illustrated word puzzle media on improving the ability of JA subjects in initial reading, namely in the aspects of reading KV and KV-KV patterned. This media can be used as an alternative for teachers in initial reading.
