Abstract
------- Depression is a psychological disorder that is often experienced by Indonesian people. The adolescent phase is one of the phases of the emergence of depression because this phase is a transitional period so it is very vulnerable to depression. One of the causes of the increase in cases of depression is due to the lack of public awareness of mental disorders. So that making an educational media can be an option in providing information related to depression. Explainer animation is one of the choices of educational media that can be used to convey interesting information. For this reason, the researchers tried to create an educational media in the form of an animated explainer that was intended for teenagers. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of designing explainer animation media to be made and the results of media trials in delivering education about depression in adolescents. The method used in this research is D&D (Design & Development) using the N.J Manson model which consists of awareness of the problem, suggestions, product development, evaluation, and conclusions. The media that was designed went through the expert validation and trial stages, where the material aspect got a score of 91.45%, the media aspect was 91.11%, and the test results got a score of 83.8%. So it can be concluded that the explainer animation media is good enough in providing education.
