Abstract

Kemampuan literasi matematis sangatlah penting bagi kehidupaan sehari-hari. Namun pada kenyataannya kemampuan literasi matematis siswa masih terbilang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kemampuan literasi matematis siswa terhadap topik keliling dan luas daerah segitiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain Didactical Design Research (DDR), namun masih dalam tahap awal, menganalisis learning obstacle dan learning trajectory. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII (salah satu kelas) di salah satu SMP Negeri Kota Bandung sebanyak 8 dari 30 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, menunjukkan lebih dari 50% siswa memiliki kemampuan literasi matematis yang rendah dan mayoritas siswa hanya bisa menjawab soal dengan benar dan sesuai sampai level 1. Hambatan yang terdeteksi pada siswa terbagi menjadi 3 bagian, yaitu 1) hambatan ontogenik yang bersifat instrumental, 2) hambatan didaktis, yakni sajian bahan ajar kurang memfasilitasi terhadap pemahaman siswa mengenai kedudukan alas dan tinggi pada segitiga yang tegak lurus dan kurangnya soal-soal latihan yang menunjang kemampuan proses matematisasi, dan 3) hambatan epistimologi, yakni adanya keterbatasan mengenai konsep luas daerah segitiga, koneksi konsep alas dan tinggi pada segitiga dengan konsep tegak lurus, merepresentasikan masalah ke dalam gambar, koneksi konsep keliling segitiga dengan luas daerah segitiga, dan koneksi keliling segitiga dengan konsep perbandingan. Mathematical literacy skills are very important for everyday life. But in reality, students' mathematical literacy skills are still low. This study aims to assess students' mathematical literacy skills on the topic of perimeter and area of triangle. This research uses a qualitative research approach with a Didactical Design Research (DDR) design, but it is still in its early stages, analyzing learning obstacles and learning trajectory. The subjects in this study were 8th grade students (one of the classes) in one of the Bandung City Public Junior High Schools as many as 8 out of 30 students. Based on the results of the research conducted, it shows that more than 50% of students have low mathematical literacy skills and the majority of students can only answer questions correctly and accordingly up to level 1. The barriers detected in students are divided into 3 parts, namely 1) instrumental ontogenic barriers, 2) didactic barriers, namely the presentation of teaching materials that do not facilitate students' understanding of the position of the base and height in a perpendicular triangle and the lack of practice questions that support the ability of the mathematization process, and 3) epistemological barriers, namely the limitations regarding the concept of triangular area, the connection of the concept of base and height in a triangle with the concept of perpendicularity, representing problems into images, the connection of the concept of the circumference of a triangle with the area of a triangle, and the connection of the circumference of a triangle with the concept of comparison.
