Abstract

The research related to leadership motivation language on employee performance is motivated by increasingly fierce business competition, which demands companies to improve company performance. The company's performance can be seen from how the company improves its economy, efficiency, and effectiveness. Human resources are the company's biggest capital. Communication skills of company leaders are needed to make maximum use of human resources. Recent research reveals that leadership motivation has a positive impact on increasing performance, employee motivation and career advancement. The ability of communication and use of language has begun to be noticed by previous researchers presenting interesting facts about better exchange of information between subordinates and leaders. The leader's verbal skills in leadership can be expressed in the theory of motivating language which was first popularized by Sullivan. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant influence between the motivational language of the leadership (X) on employee performance (Y). The theory that underlies this research is the motivating language theory or the theory of language that motivates, the theory has the assumption of providing an effective leadership communication model to his subordinates. This theory classifies all leadership communication to employees into three categories: meaning giving, empathetic language, and task assignment. This study uses a quantitative approach with correlational methods and uses simple random sampling data collection techniques on 92 respondents who are employees of corporate information technology PT Kimia Farma, Tbk. The results showed that: 1) there was a simultaneous significant effect between giving meaning, empathy language, and giving leadership motivational language assignments (X) on employee performance.
