Abstract

Kemampuan membaca dapat dijadikan sebagai sarana penyampaian pesan atau alat informasi yang bersumber dari tulisan. Namun, hal ini dalam pembelajaran membaca pemahaman teks eksplanasi memiliki beberapa kendala bahwa peserta didik kesulitan dalam menentukan informasi penting dalam bacaan, karena banyak menggunakan istilah atau kajian ilmiah. Menanggapi permasalahan tersebut, peneliti mengembangkan model 2M&D2M berbantuan media audio visual yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan, situasi, dan kondisi di sekolah. Metode penelitian dan pengembangan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah Research and Development (R&D). Model penelitian ini terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu: Define (Pendefenisian), Design (Rancangan), Develop (Pengembangan), dan Disseminate (Penyebaran). Subjek dalam peneitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 21 Bandung, SMPN 75 Bandung, dan SMP Sebelas Maret Bandung. Penetapan subjek tersebut dengan teknik “purposive sampling”. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan wawancara, observasi, dan angket. Uji kelayakan model divalidasi oleh 3 ahli dengan skor rata-rata 93% kategori layak. Keterpakaian model pembelajaran diperoleh dari respon pendidik dan peserta didik melalui penyebaran angket. Rata-rata tingkat respon pendidik adalah 90% dengan kategori sangat layak, peserta didik rata-rata 73% dengan kategori layak. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa model 2M&D2M berbantuan media audio visual telah layak dan berhasil diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran, karena membuat peserta didik lebih mudah dalam membaca pemahaman pada teks eksplanasi, serta membuat peserta didik lebih termotivasi dalam mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. The ability in reading can be utilized as a means for conveying messages or information which obtaining from writing. However, in learning with comprehension of explanatory texts, there were several obstacles faced by students in determining important information in reading due to the appearance of terms or scientific studies. To respond these problems, researcher developed the 2M&D2M model assisted with audio-visual media which appropriate to the needs, situations and conditions in the school. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D). This research model consists of four stages, including: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The subjects in this study were students of class VIII in SMPN 21 Bandung, SMPN 75 Bandung, and SMP Sebelas Maret Bandung. The determination of the subject was conducted with "purposive sampling" technique. The technique of data collection including interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The model feasibility test was validated by 3 experts with an average score of 93% (feasible category). The usability of the learning model was obtained from the responses of educators and students through the distribution of questionnaires. Most of teacher response with 90% with very appropriate category, while students gained 73% for appropriate category. This result shows that the 2M&D2M model assisted by audio-visual media has been feasible and successfully applied in the learning process, because easier for students to read with comprehension of explanatory texts, and makes students more motivated in achieving learning goals.
