Abstract
Kata Kunci: Kesalahan Siswa, Motivasi Belajar, Soal Matematika Kontekstual, Teori Brodie This study aims to describe the forms of student errors in solving contextual math problems using Brodie's theory in terms of learning motivation and its causal factors. This research is qualitative research with a case study design. This research was conducted at a high school in Bulukumba Regency using nine students of class XI IPA as subjects. Data collection techniques in this study used test instruments in the form of contextual math questions and non-test instruments in the form of learning motivation questionnaires and interviews. Based on the study's results, it was found that students' learning motivation was in the medium category. Types of errors for students with high self-efficacy motivation, high effort motivation students and low anxiety motivation students in the form of not writing down what is known, example errors, and not writing conclusions (basic errors). Meanwhile, students with moderate self-efficacy motivation, moderate effort-motivation students, and anxiety-motivated students are making mistakes in not writing down what is known; for example, errors and not writing conclusions (basic error), the model created is incomplete (missing information). . however, students with moderate motivation and anxiety also make mistakes in determining the area of completion (appropriate error). Then low self-efficacy motivational students, low effort-motivated students and high anxiety-motivated students make mistakes in the form of not writing down what is known, mistakes in examples and not writing conclusions (basic error), mistakes in determining the settlement area (appropriate error) and incomplete answers (missing information). After further investigating students with moderate motivational abilities from each dimension, some insights still need to be fully understood (partial insight). Factors that cause students to make mistakes are caused by internal factors such as lack of problem-solving skills, cognitive ability, unpleasant learning experiences, lack of interest in learning, pressure, anxiety and inability to manage time. At the same time, external factors are the influence of previous online learning and a less conducive classroom environment.
