Abstract

Buku teks merupakan salah satu sumber yang dijadikan pegangan utama bagi peserta didik. Melihat begitu pentingnya peran buku teks, maka isi yang tercantum haruslah dipastikan kesesuaiannya. Hal ini juga menjadi penting jika melihat hasil penelitian terdahulu yang menyatakan bahwa buku teks merupakan satu dari sekian banyak penyebab munculnya miskonsepsi pada siswa. Berdasarkan beberapa penelitian, materi substansi genetika merupakan salah satu bahasan yang seringkali terdapat miskonsepsi. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan analisis kesesuaian terkait konsep dan karakteristik representasi visual pada buku teks biologi kelas XII. Penelitian bersifat deskriptif, teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumentasi yang dilakukan pada empat buku teks yang berbeda. Instrumen kesesuaian konsep dan representasi visual menggunakan rubrik penilaian kesesuaian yang didasarkan pada indikator substansi genetika dan Permendikbud No. 8 Tahun 2016. Kemudian instrumen untuk analisis karakteristik representasi visual didasarkan pada Instructional Criteria for Images. Setelah dilakukan penelitian didapati hasil persentase kesesuaian konsep pada ranah pengetahuan: buku ERL 88.89%, YWD 88,89%, GRF 88,89%, dan YDS 92,6%. Persentase kesesuaian konsep pada ranah keterampilan: buku ERL 100%, YWD 66,67%, GRF 66,67%, dan YDS 33,33%. Persentase kesesuaian representasi visual pada buku ERL 94,02%, YWD 69,18%, GRF 63,79%, dan YDS 67,82%. Rata-rata berjumlah 1-2 representasi visual pada masing-masing halaman dengan ukuran kecil dan sangat kecil. Jenis yang banyak digunakan adalah analogi dan diagram proses. Elemen visual dominan berupa konteks dan perbedaan warna. Elemen grafis dominan menggunakan panah dan garis. Kemudian seluruh representasi visual disertai keterangan dan berhubungan dengan teks. Textbooks are one of the sources that are used as the main guide for students. Seeing the importance of the role of textbooks, the contents listed must be ensured of their suitability. This is also important if you look at the results of previous research which states that textbooks are one of the many causes for the emergence of misconceptions in students. Based on several studies, genetic material is one of the topics that often have misconceptions. Therefore, a suitability analysis was carried out regarding the concepts and characteristics of visual representations in class XII biology textbooks. The research is descriptive, data collection techniques using documentation techniques carried out on four different textbooks. The instrument of conformity to the concept and visual representation uses a conformity assessment rubric based on indicators of genetic substance and Permendikbud No. 8 of 2016. Then the instrument for analyzing the characteristics of visual representations is based on the Instructional Criteria for Images. After doing the research, it was found that the percentage of conformity of concepts in the realm of knowledge: ERL books 88.89%, YWD 88.89%, GRF 88.89%, and YDS 92.6%. Percentage of conformity of concept in skill domain: ERL book 100%, YWD 66.67%, GRF 66.67%, and YDS 33.33%. Percentage of conformity of visual representation in ERL book is 94.02%, YWD is 69.18%, GRF is 63.79%, and YDS is 67.82%. On average there are 1-2 visual representations on each page with small and very small sizes. The most widely used types are analogies and process diagrams. The dominant visual elements are context and color differences. The dominant graphic element uses arrows and lines. Then all visual representations are accompanied by descriptions and related to the text.
