    Abstract

    ABSTRAK

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam membaca warta di sekolah. Hampir dari sebagian siswa belum mampu membacakan warta dengan baik. Penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan membaca warta siswa sebelum, setelah, aspek-aspek yang meningka, bedanya kemampuan membaca warta siswa terlihat sebelum dan setelah menggunakan media telepormpter. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi kuasi eksperimen dengan desain one grup pre-test-post-test desain. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Miftahul Iman. Hasil dari penelitiannya adalah kemampuan membaca warta siswa sebelum menggunakan media teleprompter tergolong pada kategori kurang, dengan nilai rata-rata 40. Kemampuan membaca warta siswa setelah menggunakan media teleprompter tergolong pada kategori baik, dengan nilai rata-rata 73,3. Seluruh aspek-aspek mengalami peningkatan nilai, terutama nilai aspek ekspresi. Lalu berdasarkan hasil uji statistic non-parametrik, H1 diterima atau H0 ditolak. Artinya ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara pre-test dan post-test. Kesimpulannya, média teleprompter samampu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca warta siswa.

    ABSTRACT
    This research is motivated by the lack of student's ability to read the news at school. Most of the students were able to read the news well. This study aims to describe students' ability to read the news before, and after, aspects that increase the difference in students' reading ability seen before and after using teleporter media. The research method used is a quasi-experimental study with a one-group pre-test-post-test design. Sources of data from this study were students of class VIII SMP Miftahul Iman. The result of the research is that the student's ability to read news reports before using the teleprompter media is in the poor category, with an average score of 40. The student's ability to read news reports after using the teleprompter media is in a good category, with an average score of 73.3. All aspects have increased in value, especially the value of the expression aspect. Then based on the results of non-parametric statistical tests, H1 is accepted or H0 is rejected. This means that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test. In conclusion, teleprompter média can improve students' reading comprehension skills.
