Abstract

Soft skill is an ability to know and understand about strength and weakness of ourselves which also called Intrapersonal. The opposite of it which the skill of creating a good relationship with people and socialize is called interpersonal. This research is aimed to know the level of soft skill of SMKN 2 Bogor. One of the innovations that has been implemented to prepare the graduate student to face the real working experience is field practice (PKL). This activity will involve students to hands on a real job in a real scenario to get the experience. The researcher also wants to know about the effectiveness of field practice in SMKN 2 Bogor. By that, the purpose of this research is to know how the soft skill will impact the effectiveness of the field practice. This research is conducted through quantitative descriptive method, with the questioner as the research instrument. The finding from this research is the soft skill is categorized as ‘sufficient’ with the score of 37,778%. Thus, the effectiveness of the field practice is categorized as ‘quite effective’ with the score of 64,444%. Meanwhile, based on hypothesis testing, there is a significant and linear effect of Soft skills on the Effectiveness of Field Work Practices. Based on that, the recommendation for the school, industry and also the students is improving the soft skill ability to increase the effectiveness of the field practice.
