Abstract
Kemampuan membaca permulaan merupakan kemampuan yang penting dimiliki siswa di jenjang sekolah dasar, sehingga penguasaan membaca permulaan menjadi penting. Berdasarkan pengamatan peneliti ketika mengikuti program Kampus Mengajar 2 di SD Atta’zhimiyah di kota Bandung, dijumpai siswa kelas III teridentifikasi mengalami kesulitan membaca permulaan, ditandai dengan belum bisa megeja huruf, membaca kata maupun kalimat, terlebih dalam memahami teks bacaan. Tujuan penelitian ini unuk meremedial siswa yang berkesulitan membaca permulaan dengan pendekatan humanisme di SD Atta’zhimiyah. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan studi kasus melalui model layanan bimbingan konseling Robinson. Subjek penelitian ini tiga orang siswa yang berkesulitan membaca di kelas III. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan pedoman wawancara mendalam, pedoman tes membaca, dan program tindakan remedial membaca. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan pendekatan humanisme dalam penelitian ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap kepercayaan diri siswa dan kebiasaan membaca siswa di rumah. Dua dari tiga subjek mengalami peningkatan kemampuan mengenal huruf, membaca suku kata, membaca kalimat dan memahami informasi bacaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan: 1) menggunakan pendekatan humanisme berbasis pendekatan personal dalam menangani siswa yang berkesulitan membaca, 2) memberikan penguatan berupa pujian maupun sugesti positif untuk penguatan diri siswa, 3) menggunakan media yang menarik perhatian siswa sesuai kebutuhan masing-masing siswa, serta 4) untuk penelitian selanjutnya, pendekatan humanisme dapat diujicobakan untuk mengatasi kesulitan menulis permulaan di kelas rendah. Kata kunci : siswa berkesulitan membaca, membaca permulaan, pendekatan humanisme. Thus early reading mastery is essential. Based on the researcher's observations when participating in the Kampus Mengajar 2 program at Atta'zhimiyah Elementary School, third-grade students were identified as having early reading difficulties, marked by the inability to spell letters, read words, read sentences, moreover in understand reading texts. This study aims to remedy students with early reading difficulty with the humanism approach at Atta'zhimiyah Elementary School. This research method uses a case study through the Robinson counselling service model. The subjects of this study were three students who had reading difficulties in third grade. Instruments in this research used an in-depth interview guide, a reading test guide, and a reading remedial action program. The results showed that this study's humanism approach positively impacted students' self-confidence and reading habits at home. In addition, two out of three subjects reading ability have improved in recognizing letters, reading syllables, reading sentences, and understanding reading information. Based on the results of this study, here are several recommendations: 1) a personal approach with a humanism approach in dealing with students with reading difficulties would be suggested, 2) reinforcement such as praise and positive suggestions is needed for student self-efficacy, 3) usage of attractive learning media is necessary considering students individual needs, and 4) for further research, the humanism approach worth to be tested out to help students with the early writing difficulty in lower grades.
