Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya permasalahan yang dialami siswa dalam menulis cerita pendek. Permasalahan tersebut meliputi kesulitan ketika mencari ide, mengembangkan ide atau gagasan, pikiran, menuliskan kerangka cerita, dan mengembangkan bahasa ke dalam bentuk tulisan, serta kurangnya minat siswa dalam menulis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengujicobakan strategi Critical Incident dengan media film pendek pada pembelajaran menulis cerita pendek. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan desain penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi yang digunakan, yaitu siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 15 Bandung. Sampel yang digunakan, yaitu siswa kelas XI IPS 4 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan XI IPS 3 sebagai kelompok kontrol. Kedua kelompok tersebut dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel yang diambil dari masing-masing kelas sebanyak 19 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi kegaiatan siswa dan tes kemampuan menulis cerita pendek. Tes dilakukan sebanyak dua kali, yaitu tes awal dan tes akhir. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik dengan bantuan aplikasi SPSS versi 25. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi penelitian ini 0,000 < 0,05, artinya Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Maka dari itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara kemampuan menulis cerita pendek siswa di kelas eksperimen yang mandapatkan perlakuan penerapan strategi Critical Incident dengan media film pendek dengan kelas kontrol yang tidak mendapat perlakuan tersebut. These problems include difficulties when looking for ideas, developing ideas or ideas, thoughts, writing story frames, and developing language into written form, as well as students' lack of interest in writing. This study aims to test the Critical Incident strategy with short film media in learning to write short stories. The research method used in this research is a quasi-experimental research design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population used is class XI SMA Negeri 15 Bandung. The samples used were students of class XI IPS 4 as the experimental group and XI IPS 3 as the control group. The two groups were selected using purposive sampling technique. The number of samples taken from each class as many as 19 students. The data collection technique used was observation of student activity and a short story writing ability test. The test was carried out twice, namely the initial test and the final test. The data analysis technique used statistical tests with the help of the SPSS version 25 application. The results showed that the significance value of this study was 0.000 <0.05, meaning Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a difference between the ability to write short stories of students in the experimental class who received the treatment of applying the Critical Incident strategy with short film media and the control class who did not receive the treatment.
