Abstract
Rancangan pembelajaran yang baik didukung dengan adanya suatu bahan ajar yang mampu memberikan kemudahan bagi pendidik dalam mengajar agar tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai serta memberi kemudahan bagi siswa dalam mempelajari materi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita aplikasi fungsi kuadrat dan mendesain bahan ajar soal cerita aplikasi fungsi kuadrat berdasarkan prosedur Newman. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif berupa design research, yaitu suatu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan desain bahan ajar. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, adapun analisis datanya dilakukan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah 34 siswa kelas X yang mengikuti uji permulaan dan 7 siswa kelas VIII yang mengikuti uji coba bahan ajar. Hasil uji permulaan ditemukan berbagai kesalahan siswa yaitu: (1)kesalahan.membaca.masalah; (2)kesalahan memahami masalah; (3)kesalahan transformasi masalah; (4)kesalahan keterampilan proses; (5)kesalahan penulisan jawaban. Desain bahan ajar yang diimplementasikan dapat mengurangi kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan aplikasi fungsi kuadrat. Desain bahan ajar dirancang terdiri dari dua pertemuan, kegiatan-kegiatan pembelajaran dirancang dengan memperhatikan tahapan-tahapan dalam prosedur Newman. Berdasarkan temuan di lapangan maka disusun desain bahan ajar revisi untuk meningkatkan kualitas dari desain bahan ajar sehingga dapat membantu siswa mengurangi kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan aplikasi fungsi kuadrat dan mengembangkan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama. A good learning design is supported by the existence of a teaching material that is able to provide convenience for educators in teaching so that learning objectives can be achieved and provide convenience for students in learning learning materials. This.study aims to analyze students errors in solving word problems using the quadratic function application and designing teaching materials for story problems using the quadratic function application based on the Newman procedure. This research is a qualitative research in the form of design research, which is a research that aims to develop the design of teaching materials. The data collection techniques used were tests, observations, interviews, and documentation, while the data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The research subjects in this study were 34 students of class X who took the initial test and 7 students of grade VIII who took the test of teaching materials. The results of the initial test found various student errors, namely: (1)reading..errors; (2)comprehension error; (3)transformation error; (4)process skill errors; (5)encoding error. The design of the implemented teaching materials can reduce student errors in solving quadratic function application problems. The design of teaching materials is designed to consist of two meetings, learning activities are designed by taking into account the stages in the Newman procedure. Based on the findings in the field, a revised design of teaching materials was arranged to improve the quality of the design of teaching materials so that it could help students reduce errors in solving problems of quadratic function applications and develop mathematical literacy skills for junior high school students.
