Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk memahami, menganalisis, dan mendeskripsikan prasangka sosial tentang penampilan guru perempuan yang ada di Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta. Penelitian ini dilakukan karena terdapat fenomena adanya sikap tertentu yang ditujukan terhadap guru perempuan berpenampilan tertentu. Penelitian ini melibatkan empat informan yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling berdasarkan usia, status, dan jenis kelamin. Adapun informan adalah guru dan siswa baik perempuan dan laki-laki dari SMA Swasta di kota Bandung dengan metode pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: 1) terdapat penampilan ideal bagi guru laki-laki dan perempuan 2) terdapat prasangka sosial berdasarkan penampilan fisik, dijelaskan dalam tiga komponen prasangka; terdapat pada komponen kognitif (stereotipe), afektif (perasaan tidak suka), dan konatif (tindakan bersifat halus). 3) terdapat standar ganda untuk laki-laki dan perempuan yang menunjukan adanya seksisme. Kata Kunci: Prasangka Sosial, Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta, Penampilan Guru Perempuan, Stereotipe, Perasaan Tidak Suka, Prasangka Halus, Seksisme. This is a qualitative study that aims to understand, analyze, and describe social prejudices about the appearance of female teachers in private high schools. This research was conducted because there is a phenomenon of certain attitudes aimed at female teachers with certain appearances. This study involved four informants who were selected using a purposive sampling technique based on age, status, and gender. The informants are teachers and students, both female and male, from private high schools in the city of Bandung with data collection methods using interviews which were analyzed descriptively. The results show that: 1) there is an ideal appearance for male and female teachers 2) there is social prejudice based on physical appearance, explained in three components of prejudice; which are cognitive (stereotypes), affective (dislike feelings), and conative (subtle actions). 3) there is a double standard for men and women which shows the existence of sexism.
