Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh letak geografis Indonesia sebagai negara rawan bencana dan kurangnya edukasi mengenai kesiapsiagaan bencana alam gempa bumi di sekolah dasar. Sekolah belum memasukan kesiapsiagaan bencana alam kedalam program pembelajaran secara spesifik serta belum adanya pengembangan modul mengenai materi kesiapsiagaan bencana alam khususnya gempa bumi selain itu para guru hanya mengandalkan referensi dari buku saja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul dengan pendekatan saintifik pada materi kesiapsiagaan bencana alam gempa bumi di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menerapkan penelitian Desain and Development yang mengadopsi pengembangan dari Richey and Klein (2007) dengan model Product Development Research yang memiliki tiga tahapan yaitu Planning, Production, and Evaluation (PPE). Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah validator ahli yang terdiri dari ahli materi, ahli hahasa, ahli media, praktisi pendidikan dan siswa. Pemerolehan hasil data dianalisis dengan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) Telah dikembangkan modul “Asbal” (Ayo Siaga Bencana Alam) dengan pendekatan saintifik untuk siswa Sekolah Dasar 2) Kelayakan modul “Asbal” pada materi kesiapsiagaan bencana alam gempa bumi di sekolah dasar berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi adalah sangat baik dengan presentase 86%, ahli bahasa memperoleh presentase 90% dengan kriteria sangat baik, ahli media dengan presentase 98% dengan keteria sangat baik dan praktisi pendidikan memperoleh 94% dengan kriteria sangat baik. This research is motivated by the geographical location of Indonesia as a disaster-prone country and the lack of education about earthquake preparedness in elementary schools. Schools have not included natural disaster preparedness into specific learning programs and there is no module development regarding natural disaster preparedness materials, especially earthquakes, besides that the teachers only rely on references from books. This study aims to develop a module with a scientific approach to earthquake preparedness materials in elementary schools. This study applies Design and Development research that adopts the development of Richey and Klein (2007) with a Product Development Research model which has three stages, namely Planning, Production, and Evaluation (PPE). Participants in this study were expert validators consisting of material experts, language experts, media experts, educational practitioners and students. The data obtained were analyzed by qualitative and quantitative methods. The results of this study are 1) The "Asbal" module (Let's Prepare for Natural Disasters) has been developed with a scientific approach for elementary school students 2) The feasibility of the "Asbal" module on earthquake natural disaster preparedness material in elementary schools based on the assessment of material experts is very good with the percentage of 86%, linguists get a percentage of 90% with very good criteria, media experts with a percentage of 98% with very good criteria and education practitioners get 94% with very good criteria.
