Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh profil model mental siswa pada konsep penurunan tekanan uap sebagai sifat koligatif larutan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kualititatif dengan analisis deskriptif menggunakan instrumen Tes Diagnostik Model Mental - Interview About Event (IAE). Partisipan penelitian terdiri dari enam siswa kelas XII MIPA di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung dengan tiga kemampuan akademik berbeda, yaitu siswa berkemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa semua siswa menjawab salah pada definisi tekanan uap jenuh. Pada penjelasan penurunan tekanan uap larutan semua siswa mengalami miskonsepsi bahwa hadirnya zat terlarut dalam larutan dapat menghalangi pelarutnya untuk menguap sehingga tekanan uap larutan lebih rendah dibandingkan air murni. Semua siswa menjawab benar sebagian dalam menjelaskan penurunan tekanan uap sebagai sifat koligatif larutan.Selain itu, ditemukan miskonsepsi dalam konsep sifat koligatif larutan, bahwa sifat koligatif larutan adalah sifat fisik larutan yang dipengaruhi oleh jenis zat terlarut. Kemudian, siswa berkemampuan sedang dan rendah tidak dapat menjelaskan dengan lengkap perbedaan penurunan tekanan uap larutan elektrolit dibandingkan larutan nonelektrolit. Terakhir, hanya siswa berkemampuan tinggi yang dapat menghitung nilai penurunan tekanan uap larutan elektrolit dan nonelektrolit dengan tepat. This study aims to obtain a profile of students' mental models on the concept of vapor pressure lowering as a colligative property of a solution. The method used in this research is qualitative with descriptive analysis using research instrument Diagnostic Test Model Mental - Interview About Event (IAE). The participants of this research were six students of class XII MIPA in one of the public high schools in Bandung with three different academic abilities, students with high, medium, and low abilities. Based on the results of the study, it was found that all students answered incorrectly on the definition of saturated vapor pressure. In concept of vapor pressure lowerring, all students have the misconception that the presence of solutes in solution can prevent the solvent from evaporating so that the vapor pressure of the solution is lower than pure water. All students answered partially correctly in explaining the vapor pressure lowering as a colligative property of a solution. In addition, a misconception was found in the concept of colligative properties of solutions, that colligative properties of solutions are physical properties of solutions that are influenced by the type of solute. Then, students with medium and low abilities cannot fully explain the difference in vapor pressure lowering of electrolyte solutions compared to non-electrolyte solutions. Finally, only high-ability students can calculate the value of the vapor pressure lowering of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions correctly.
