Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA. Peneliti memberikan solusi dengan penerapan metode demonstrasi, suatu metode pembelajaran dengan cara memperagakan barang, kejadian, aturan dan urutan melakukan suatu kegiatan, baik secara langsung maupun melalui penggunaan media pengajaran yang relevan dengan materi yang sedang disajikan. Mengacu pada hal tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode demonstrasi berbantuan media phet simulation terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa di SDN 1 Cisomang pada pembelajaran ilmu pengetahuan alam dengan fokus materi gaya dan gerak. Metode penelitian ini adalah pre eksperimen dengan desain one-group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas IV yang berjumlah 35 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan berupa tes, instrumen tes yang digunakan berbentuk soal pilihan ganda dengan jumlah 15 soal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh data bahwa rata-rata skor pretest 54,29 setelah diterapkannya metode demonstrasi berbantuan media phet simulation mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata skor postest 75,60. Skor nilai N-Gain naik menjadi 0,4841 berada dikategori sedang dan hasil koefisien determinasi diketahui bahwa metode demonstrasi berbantuan media phet simulation berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa sebesar 73,4%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penelitian ini dapat simpulkan bahwa penerapan metode demonstrasi berbantuan media phet simulation berpengaruh dan mengalami peningkatan terhadap pemahaman konsep pada siswa kelas IV di SDN 1 Cisomang. Researchers provide solutions by applying the demonstration method, a learning method by demonstrating items, events, rules and sequences of carrying out an activity, either directly or through the use of teaching media that are relevant to the material being presented. Referring to this, this study aims to determine the effect of the application of the demonstration method assisted by phet simulation on the understanding of students' concepts at SDN 1 Cisomang in learning natural sciences with a focus on force and motion material. This research method is pre-experimental withone-group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this research is the fourth grade students, totaling 35 people. The data collection method used is a test, the test instrument used is in the form of multiple choice questions with a total of 15 questions. Based on the results of the analysis, it was obtained that the average pretest score was 54.29 after the implementation of the phet simulation with an average posttest score of 75.60. The N-Gain score increased to 0.4841 in the medium category and the results of the coefficient of determination showed that the demonstration method assisted by phet simulation media had an effect on increasing students' understanding of concepts by 73.4%. Based on the results of the analysis of this study, it can be concluded that the application of the demonstration method assisted by the phet simulation media has an effect and has increased on the understanding of concepts in fourth grade students at SDN 1 Cisomang.
