Abstract
The problem in this study is how the development of West Java canoeing sports achievements in participating in national and international events is reviewed through the 9 pillars of sports policy factors towards international sports success (SPILSS). The purpose of this study was to determine the achievements of the West Java canoeing sport in national and international events in terms of 9 pillars of sports policy factors towards international sports success (SPILSS). The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative that uses a historical approach or Historical Research. The population in this study were athletes, coaches, and administrators of canoeing sports organizations in West Java. The sample in this study was 7 people consisting of athletes, coaches, canoeing sports administrators. The results of the study found that the improvement of canoeing sports achievement in West Java was very well developed, this achievement can be obtained because West Java Canoeing always applies good coaching and development based on the 9 pillars of sports policy factors towards international sports success (SPLISS) as a support for canoeing athletes in Java. West to continue to excel and contribute to national and international events.
