Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena adanya kesenjangan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Masalah yang dihadapi siswa kelas V pada pelajaran IPA ini adalah kurangnya pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada saat pembelajaran berlangsung dan siswa kurang memiliki rasa keingintahuan terhadap masalah yang dihadapi dalam pembelajaran serta guru merasa terkendala dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran IPA di sekolah dasar ini. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk dapat menganalisis faktor, upaya dan kendala dalam mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek sebanyak 15 orang siswa. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan wawancara. Hasil menunjukan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa berbeda-beda, yaitu 2 orang dikategorikan sangat baik, 7 orang dikategorikan baik, 4 orang dikategorikan cukup dan 2 orang dikategorikan kurang. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yaitu faktor psikologis, faktor fisiologis, faktor kemandirian belajar dan faktor interaksi antara guru dan siswa serta orang tua. Kendala-kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru dan siswa adalah kesiapan siswa untuk belajar yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor dari luar maupun dari dalam. Upaya yang dilaksanakan oleh guru dan orang tua siswa agar kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa berkembang adalah guru melakukan apersepsi kepada siswa dan merefleksi tujuan pembelajaran yang sudah dibuat. Lalu melakukan evaluasi dan mengadakan remedial serta pengayaan. Sedangkan orang tua siswa senantiasa membimbing dan mendampingi siswa ketika belajar di rumah. ----- The background of this research is that there is a gap in the critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students. The problems faced by fifth grade students in this science lesson are the lack of developing critical thinking skills during learning and students has low also have obstacles curiosity about the problems faced in learning and the obstacles faced by teachers in developing students' critical thinking skills in science learning in elementary schools. This research was conducted to analyze the factors, efforts and obstacles in developing critical thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students. This research use qualitative descriptive study with a subject of 15 students. The data is collected through tests and interviews. Findings found that students' critical thinking skills were varied, 2 students were categorized as very good, 7 students were categorized as good, 4 students were categorized as moderate and 2 students were categorized as poor. The factors influencing students' critical thinking skills are psychological factors, physiological factors, learning independence factors and interaction between teachers and students as well as between students and parents. The obstacles faced by teachers and students are the readiness of the students which is affected by external and internal factors. Efforts made by teachers to develop students' critical thinking skills are doing apperception in the beginning of the lesson and reflection on the learning objectives that have been made. Then evaluate and conduct remedial and enrichment. Meanwhile, parents always guide and accompany students when studying at home.
