Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap penerapan strategi Think-Read-Group-Share-Reflect (TRGSR) terhadap kemampuan literasi membaca siswa pada berbagai isu perubahan lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan desain non-equivalent control group design. Partisipan penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA yang terdiri atas 25 siswa, baik pada kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional maupun kelas eksperimen dengan strategi pembelajaran TRGSR. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian terdiri dari tes kemampuan literasi membaca berupa soal pilihan ganda, angket respon siswa terhadap penerapan strategi TRGSR, dan lembar observasi keterlaksanaan TRGSR. Penilaian terhadap kemampuan literasi membaca siswa didasarkan pada tiga level kognitif menurut Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum, yaitu menemukan informasi, interpretasi dan integrasi, serta evaluasi, dan refleksi. Hasil pre-test kemampuan literasi membaca siswa pada kelas kontrol adalah 58,52% dan kelas eksperimen adalah 75,44%. Peningkatan kemampuan literasi membaca siswa dikategorikan rendah baik pada kelas kontrol (0,48%) dan kelas eksperimen (9,6%). Data respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran TRGSR menunjukkan bahwa hampir sebagian besar siswa memberikan respon positif penerapan strategi TRGSR dalam pembelajaran dan hasil observasi keterlaksanaan TRGSR dikategorikan sedang. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi TRGSR berpotensi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi membaca siswa pada berbagai isu perubahan lingkungan. This study aims to reveal the application of the Think-Read-Group-Share-Reflect (TRGSR) strategy to students’ reading literacy skills on various issues environmental change. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The research participants were students of class X SMA which consisted of 25 students, both in the control class using conventional learning and the experimental class with the TRGSR learning strategy. The instrument used in the study consisted of a reading literacy test in the form of multiple-choice questions, a student response questionnaire on the implementation of the TRGSR. Assessment of students’ reading literacy skills is based on three cognitive levels according to the Minimum Competency Assessment, namely finding information, interpretation and integration, as well as evaluation and reflection. The result of the pre-test reading literacy ability of the students in the control class was 58,52% and the experimental class was 75,44%. The increase in students’ reading literacy skills was categorized as low in both the control class (0,485) and the experimental class (9,6%). Data on student responses to TRGSR learning shows that most students give a positive response to the implementation of TRGSR strategies in learning and the results of observations on TRGSR implementation are categorized as moderate. So, it can be concluded that the implementation of the TRGSR strategy has the potential to improve students’ reading literacy skills on environmental change.
