Abstract

Pendidikan karakter ialah usaha dalam mendidik anak untuk membuat pilihan yang baik dan mengimplementasikannya dalam aktivitas sehari-hari sehingga mereka mampu berperan nyata untuk lingkungan sekitar mereka. Internalisasi pendidikan karakter dilakukan dengan berbagai cara satu diantaranya yang diterapkan di Indonesia yaitu melalui sekolah. Pembentukan karakter sejak usia dini memberikan landasan yang kuat untuk membentuk karakter peduli lingkungan. Sikap dan perilaku yang senantiasa berusaha menghindari kerusakan lingkungan sekitar dan memulihkan kerusakan alam yang telah terjadi merupakan karakter peduli lingkungan. Lingkungan sekolah yang sehat sangat dibutuhkan untuk mendukung proses belajar mengajar dan untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan kebiasaan hidup bersih dan sehat. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan pada mata pelajaran IPA di SDN Kalibata 04 Pagi. Metode narrative inquiry peneliti gunakan untuk penelitian ini dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa story telling, field note, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berlandaskan penelitian yang sudah dilakukan bahwa sudah diterapkan sejak lama pembiasaan-pembiasaan peduli lingkungan. Namun dikarenakan pandemi covid-19, dalam menanamkan karakter peduli lingkungan hanya dapat dilakukan dalam pembelajaran yang aktif secara jarak jauh. Sehingga dalam menanamkan karakter ini guru hanya dapat memenuhi aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Minat siswa dalam kepeduliannya terhadap lingkungan tidak dapat terlihat dalam pembelajaran jarak jauh (PJJ). Oleh sebab itu peneliti mengembangkan program pendidikan karakter peduli lingkungan pada mata pelajaran IPA saat pembelajaran tatap muka dengan dipengaruhi oleh 4 aspek, antara lain kognitif, afektif, psikomotorik, dan minat. Dan terbukti siswa tertarik untuk mengolah sampah. Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Karakter, Peduli Lingkungan, IPA Character education is an effort in educating children to make good choices and implement them in daily activities so that they are able to play a real role for their surroundings. The internalization of character education is carried out in various ways, one of which is implemented in Indonesia, namely through schools. Character building from an early age provides a strong foundation for shaping the character of caring for the environment. Attitudes and behaviors that always try to avoid damage to the surrounding environment and restore natural damage that has occurred are the character of caring for the environment. A healthy school environment is needed to support the teaching and learning process and to adjust to clean and healthy living habits. This study aims to find out the picture of character education caring for the environment in science subjects at SDN Kalibata 04 Pagi. The narrative inquiry method researchers used for this study with data collection techniques in the form of story telling, field notes, interviews, and documentation. Based on research that has been carried out that it has been applied for a long time to habituate environmental care. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in instilling the character of caring for the environment, it can only be done in remotely active learning. So that in instilling this character the teacher can only meet cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The student's interest in his concern for the environment cannot be seen in distance learning. Therefore, researchers develop character education programs that care for the environment in science subjects during face-to-face learning with influenced by 4 aspects, including cognitive, affective, psychomotor, and interests.
