    Abstract

    Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tradisi manday di Kabupatén Majalengka, serta
    adanya makna yang ada dalama tradisi ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk
    mengétahui kedudukan serta proses berlangsungnya tradisi manday, unsur dan ajén
    budaya dalam tradisi manday, dan penerapan hasil penelitian tradisi manday dalam
    pembelajaran membaca artikel di SMA kelas XII. Metode yang digunakan dalam
    penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif analitis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik
    yang digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data yaitu teknik observasi partisipatif pasif,
    wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu: 1) kedudukan tradisi
    manday sebagai salah satu mata pencaharian utama di Kabupaten Majalengka
    khsususnya di Desa Gelok Mulya Kecamatan Sumberjaya dan proses berlangsungnya
    tradisi manday yaitu alat yang digunakan dalam tradisi ini ada tujuh diantaranya paron,
    palu, capit, blower, gerinda, pemotongan besi (cutting), dan singkup; serta bahan yang
    digunakan dalam tradisi manday ada enam diantaranya pér mobil, gergaji batu, as mobil,
    hidrolik mobil béko, pinion mobil, dan arang.; 2) unsur budaya yang terdapat dalam
    tradisi manday yaitu unsur religi, organisasi, pengétahuan, bahasa, kesenian, mata
    pencaharian, alat-alat dan téknologi serta nilai budaya yang terdapat dalam tradisi ini
    yaitu Hakikat Hidup (disingkat MH), Hakikat Karya (disingkat HK), Hakikat kedudukan
    Manusia dan Waktu (disingkat MW), Hakikat hubungan Manusia dan Alam (disingkat
    MA), dan Hakékat hubungan Manusia dan sesamanya (disingkat MM); serta 4) hasil
    dari penelitian ini bisa dijadikan bahan pembelajaran membaca artikel budaya di SMA
    kelas XII. Dengan demikian, tradisi ini penting dikétahui dan dilestarikan oleh
    masyarakatnya. Termasuk oleh generasi muda yang bertugas untuk meneruskan tradisi
    ini, agar tidak tergerus oleh perkembangan zaman.

    MANDAY TRADITION IN MAJALENGKA DISTRICT
    FOR LEARNING MATERIALS TO READ CULTURAL ARTICLES
    IN SMA CLASS XII

    ABSTRACT
    This research is motivated by the manday tradition in Majalengka Regency, and the
    meaning that exists in this tradition. The purpose of this research is to find out the
    position and process of the ongoing Manday tradition, elements and cultural
    arrangements in the Manday tradition, and the application of the results of Manday
    Tradition research in learning to read articles in SMA class XII. The method used in this
    research is descriptive analytical method using a qualitative approach. The techniques
    used in collecting data are passive participatory observation techniques, interviews, and
    documentation. The results of this study are: 1) the position of the manday tradition as
    one of the main livelihoods in Majalengka Regency, especially in Gelok Mulya Village,
    Sumberjaya District and the ongoing process of the manday tradition, namely the tools
    used in this tradition there are seven of them anvil, hammer, claw, blower, grinding,
    cutting, and scoping; as well as the materials used in the manday tradition, there are six
    of them car pér, rock saw, car axle, beko car hydraulics, car pinion, and charcoal.; 2)
    the cultural elements contained in the manday tradition are elements of religion,
    organization, knowledge, language, arts, livelihoods, tools and technology as well as
    cultural values contained in this tradition, namely Hakikat Hidup (abbreviated MH),
    Hakikat Karya (abbreviated HK). ), the nature of the position of man and time
    (abbreviated as MW), the nature of the relationship between man and nature
    (abbreviated as MA), and the nature of human relations with each other (abbreviated as
    MM); and 4) the results of this study can be used as material for learning to read
    cultural articles in high school class XII. Thus, it is important for the community to know
    and preserve this tradition. Including by the younger generation who are tasked with
    continuing this tradition, so as not to be eroded by the times.
