    Abstract

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan aktivitas siswa dan pemahaman
    konsep pada siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini di latar belakangi
    berdasarkan rendahnya minat belajar siswa dalam proses pembelajaran dan
    kurangnya pemahaman konsep siswa terhadap materi ajar terutama pada muatan
    pembelajaran IPS. Hal tersebut diihat dari hasil observasi di kelas V SDN
    Pasirkaliki Mandiri 1 Kelurahan Pasirkaliki Kecamatan Cimahi Utara. Model
    pembelajaran discovery learning (berbasis penemuan) adalah salah satu tipe
    pembelajaran yang paling sederhana yang memusatkan kepada motivasi peserta
    didik dan kemampuan peserta didik dalam melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran.
    Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan
    Model Spiral Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Instumen penelitian menggunakan lembar
    observasi, soal tes, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak 2 siklus dan
    setiap siklusnya mengalami peningkatan pada aktivitas belajar siswa dan hasil tes
    pemahaman konsep. Pada siklus I hasil tes pemahaman konsep siswa memperoleh
    nilai rata-rata 70,68 dengan persentase ketuntasan 54,55%, dan rata-rata aktivitas
    siswa 2,5 dengan persentase 62% termasuk kategori tinggi. Pada siklus II hasil tes
    pemahaman konsep siswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata 84,55 dengan persentase
    ketuntasan 86,36%% dan rata-rata aktivitas siswa 3,27 dengan persentase 81,71%
    termasuk kategori sangat tinggi. Dengan adanya peningkatan pada kegiatan
    aktivitas belajar siswa dan tes pemahaman konsep siswa dengan menerapkan model
    discovery learning maka penelitian ini dapat dikatakan berhasil.

    The learning model to increase student activity and understanding of concepts in
    fifth grade elementary school students. The background of this research is based
    on the low interest in learning of students in the learning process and the lack of
    understanding of students' concepts of teaching materials, especially in social
    studies learning content. This can be seen from the results of observations in class
    V at SDN Pasirkaliki Mandiri 1, Pasirkaliki Village, North Cimahi District. The
    Discovery Learning (discovery-based) learning model is one of the simplest types
    of learning that focuses on the motivation of students and the ability of students to
    carry out learning activities. The method in this study uses Classroom Action
    Research with the Spiral Model of Kemmis and Mc Taggart. Research instruments
    use observation sheets, test questions, and documentation. The research was
    conducted in 2 cycles and each cycle experienced an increase in student learning
    activities and concept understanding test results. In the first cycle, the students'
    concept understanding test results obtained an average score of 70,68 with a
    completeness percentage of 54,55%, and an average student activity of 2.5 with a
    percentage of 62% including the high category. In the second cycle, the students'
    concept understanding test results obtained an average score of 84,55 with a
    completeness percentage of 86,36% and an average student activity of 3.27 with a
    percentage of 81.71% including the very high category. With an increase in student
    learning activities and student concept understanding tests by applying the
    Discovery Learning model, this research can be said to be successful.
