Abstract
ABSTRAK Pembelajaran IPA sangat berkaitan pada pengetahuan alam sekitar sehingga hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran IPA tidak hanya berfokus pada penguasaan pengetahuan namun sebuah proses penemuan dalam mendapatkan hasil. Melalui pembelajaran IPA siswa dapat mempelajari dirinya sendiri serta alam sekitarmya. Salah satu model yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA yang melibatkan pengalaman siswa dan pengetahuan siswa yaitu model PODE (Predict, Observe, Discuss, Explain). Penelitian ini digunakan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan model PODE dan pembelajaran konvensional terhadap hasil belajar IPA siswa sekolah dasar dan apakah peningkatan hasil belajar IPA siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapatkan pembelajaran PODE lebih baik dari pada siswa sekolah dasar yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional. Metode dalam penelitian ini yaitu Quasi Eksperiment dengan menggunakan desain penelitian yaitu Non-Equivalen. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu siswa kelas 4 di SDN Jambe 1. Kelas terbagi menjadi dua yaitu kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen yang setiap kelas berisikan 23 siswa. Instrument tes penelitian menggunakan essay yang berjumlah 8 soal, sedangkan instrument nontes menggunakan wawancara dan jurnal harian siswa. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat pengaruh sebesar 67,8% dan 13,5%, peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif pada kelas ekperimen menggunakan model PODE lebih baik dari pada kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional, berdasarkan peningkatan hasil belajar rata-rata kelas ekperimen mendapat kategori sedang sedangkan peningkatan hasil belajar rata-rata pada kelas kontrol mendapat kategori rendah. Jadi dapat disimpulkan jika model pembelajaran PODE dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dalam ranah kognitif. ----- Science learning is closely related to knowledge of the natural environment so that student learning outcomes in science learning do not only focus on mastering knowledge but a process of discovery in getting results. Science learning can help student learn themselves and their surroundings. One model that can improve science learning outcomes involving student experience and student knowledge is the PODE (Predict, Observe, Discuss, Explain) model. This study was used to determine how the effect PODE model and conventional learning on the science learning outcomes of elementary school students and whether the increase in science learning outcomes of elementary school students who received PODE learning was better than that of elementary school students who received conventional learning. The research use Quasi Experiment method with Non-Equivalent control group design. The sample is forth grade student at SDN Jambe 1. The class is divided into two group, namely the control group and the experimental group, each group contains 23 students. The research test instrument used an essay which consisted of 8 questions, while the Non-test instrument used interviews and student daily journals. The result of study imply that PODE models there is an effect of 67,8% and 13,5%. The increase in cognitive learning outcomes in experimental group the PODE model better than the control group using conventional learning. The average increase of learning outcomes in the experimental group category while average increase of learning outcomes in the control group is low category. So it can be concluded that the PODE learning model can improve student learning outcomes in the cognitive domain.
