Abstract
Bermaknanya pembelajaran sains didapatkan siswa dengan adanya kemampuan literasi sains yang baik. Literasi sains yang baik dapat menciptakan generasi muda yang melek sains dan memiliki karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning berbantuan benda konkret dalam meningkatkan literasi sains siswa di salah satu sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Purwakarta. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas pada Tema 9 Subtema 2 Benda dalam Kegiatan Ekonomi. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yakni perencanaan (planning), pelaksanaan (action), pengamatan (observation), dan refleksi (reflection). Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V di sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Purwakarta dengan jumlah 40 siswa. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan observasi, tes kemampuan literasi sains, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Pada kondisi awal atau pra siklus persentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal siswa sebesar 37,5% dengan rata-rata 59,90. Pada siklus I persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 62,5% dengan rata-rata 72,75. Pada siklus II persentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal mencapai 87,5% dengan rata-rata 88,50 yang mana hasil tersebut masuk ke dalam kategori sangat baik. Selaras dengan adanya peningkatan aktivitas siswa pada siklus I yaitu sebesar 70,15% dengan kategori baik dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II yaitu sebesar 84,96% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Berdasarkan data tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menerapkan model discovery learning berbantuan benda konkret dapat meningkatkkan literasi sains siswa sekolah dasar. ----- The meaning of science learning is obtained by students with good scientific literacy skills. Good scientific literacy can create a young generation who are scientifically literate and have character. This study aims to determine the application of discovery learning assisted by concrete objects in improving students' scientific literacy in one of the elementary schools in Purwakarta District. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research on Theme 9 Sub-theme 2 Objects in Economic Activities. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning (planning), implementation (action), observation (observation), and reflection (reflection). The subjects in this study were fifth grade students in elementary schools in Purwakarta District with a total of 40 students. Data were collected using observation, scientific literacy test, and documentation. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. In the initial or pre-cycle conditions, the percentage of students' classical learning completeness was 37.5% with an average of 59.90. In the first cycle the percentage of classical completeness was 62.5% with an average of 72.75. In the second cycle the percentage of classical learning completeness reached 87.5% with an average of 88.50 which the results were in the very good category. In line with the increase in student activity in the first cycle, which is 70.15% in the good category and has an increase in the second cycle, which is 84.96% which is included in the very good category. Based on these data, it can be concluded that by applying the discovery learning assisted by concrete objects, it can improve the scientific literacy of elementary school students.
