Abstract
The ability to recognize geometric shapes in early childhood is needed as a basis for recognizing geometric shapes because of the similarities with the objects around them. To stimulate the ability to recognize geometric shapes in children, learning media are used. The purpose of this study was to determine how much effect the application of the Mini Gift game media to the introduction of geometric shapes for children aged 5-6 years. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest research design. The results showed a significant increase in the ability to recognize geometric shapes of children aged 5-6 years before and after the application of the mini gift game media. This is evidenced by the results of the data analysis of the calculation of the paired t-test sample of 53.91 > t table 2.073 with a significance level of 95%, H0 is rejected and H0 is accepted. In addition, from the results of the N-Gain test calculation, it is known that the application of mini gift game media is effective in the ability to recognize geometric shapes for children aged 5-6 years with an average value of g = 0.8026 > 0.7 and is included in the high category.
