Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pengaruh penerapan metode Survey, Question, Read, Recite, dan Review (SQ3R) terhadap kemampuan literasi membaca siswa SMA pada materi ekosistem. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperiment dengan desain penelitian pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group desain. Partisipan penelitian adalah siswa SMA kelas X, terdiri dari 32 siswa baik kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan metode SQ3R maupun siswa kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional (diskusi dan ceramah). Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tes kemampuan literasi membaca dalam bentuk soal pilihan ganda, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan SQ3R, Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) dan rubriknya serta angket respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran metode SQ3R. Pre-test diberikan kepada kelas kontrol maupun eksperimen sebelum pembelajaran, sedangkan post-test diberikan setelah pembelajaran dilakukan. Indikator kemampuan literasi membaca yang digunakan berdasarkan level kognitif Asesmen Kompetensi Minimum (AKM), yaitu menemukan informasi, memahami, dan mengevaluasi. Data kemampuan literasi membaca siswa diperoleh dari nilai pre-test dan post-test. Data keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan metode SQ3R termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil analisis data pre-test menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi membaca awal pada kelas kontrol (51,00%) dan kelas eksperimen (62,88%) berbeda signifikan. Setelah dilakukan pembelajaran, kemampuan literasi membaca siswa mengalami peningkatan. Berdasarkan indeks N-Gain peningkatan kemampuan literasi membaca pada kelas kontrol termasuk kategori rendah (21,27%), sedangkan kelas eksperimen termasuk kategori sedang (30,83%). Hasil angket respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap pembelajaran menggunakan metode SQ3R. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode SQ3R berpengaruh terhadap meningkatnya kemampuan literasi membaca siswa SMA pada materi ekosistem. ABSTRACT This study aims to reveal the influence of the application of the Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and review (SQ3R) method on the reading literacy ability of high school students on ecosystem materials. The research method used is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design research design. The research participants were class X high school students, consisting of 32 students in both experimental classes using the SQ3R method and control class students using conventional methods (discussions and lectures). The instruments used in this study consisted of reading literacy tests in the form of multiple-choice questions, SQ3R implementation observation sheets, Student Worksheets (LKS) and their rubrics as well as questionnaires of student responses to learning the SQ3R method. Pre-tests are given to control classes and experiments before learning, while post-tests are given after learning is carried out. Indicators of reading literacy ability used are based on the cognitive level of the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM), namely finding information, understanding, and evaluating. Data on students' reading literacy ability were obtained from pre-test and post-test scores. Data on the implementation of learning using the SQ3R method is included in the high category. The results of the pre-test data analysis showed that the literacy ability of early reading in the control class (51.00%) and the experimental class (62.88%) differed significantly. After learning, students' reading literacy skills have improved. Based on the N-Gain index, the increase in reading literacy in the control class was included in the low category (21.27%), while the experimental class included the medium category (30.83%). The results of the student response questionnaire showed that most students gave a positive response to learning using the SQ3R method. So it can be concluded that the application of the SQ3R method has an effect on increasing the reading literacy ability of high school students on ecosystem materials.
