Abstract
Pentingnya membaca permulaan bagi anak adalah dapat memperluas pengetahuan dan mempermudah komunikasi anak dengan orang lain. Media buku cerita bergambar adalah media yang dapat digunakan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak usia dini. Namun pada kenyataanya penggunaan media buku cerita bergambar masih jarang digunakan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan membaca awal pada anak-anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penggunaan media buku cerita bergambar dalam mengembangkan kemampuan membaca permulaan di PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School Serang Banten dan bagaimana kemampuan membaca permulaan anak kelas Rabiul Awal di PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa penggunaan media buku cerita bergambar di PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School dilakukan ketika pergantian atau awal tema baru dimulai, sebelum densitas main dilakukan, ataupun ketika kegiatan materi pagi dan juga terkadang ketika berada di sentra persiapan yang dibacakan oleh guru di depan ruang kelas, dan juga di sela-sela waktu luang anak menunggu jemputan yang biasanya dibaca oleh anak-anak secara bergantian atau bersama-sama di pojok baca yang berada di dalam kelas. Dan kemampuan membaca permulaan di kelas Rabiul Awal PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School terdapat 3 anak dengan capaian perkembangan berkembang sangat baik (BSB) dan 5 anak dengan capaian perkembangan berkembang sesuai harapan (BSH), maka rata-rata capaian perkembangan anak di kelas Raibul Awal PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School adalah BSH atau berkembanga sesuai harapan. Jadi kemampuan membaca permulaan pada anak-anak kelas Rabiul Awal PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School Serang adalah sebagian besar sudah mampu menguasai kemampuan membaca sesuai dengan tahapan perkembangan usianya sehingga anak sudah mampu dan siap dalam membaca permulaan. The importance of early reading for children is that it can increase knowledge and facilitate children's communication with others. Picture storybook media is a medium that can be used in developing early reading skills in early childhood. However, in reality, the use of picture storybook media is still rarely used in developing early reading skills in children. This study aims to find out how the use of picture storybook media in developing early reading skills at PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School Serang Banten and how is the initial reading ability in the Rabiul Awal class at PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The results of this study indicate that the use of picture storybook media at PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School is carried out at the time of the change or the beginning of a new theme, before the density of playing is carried out, or during morning material activities and also sometimes at the preparation center which is read by the teacher in front of the classrooms, and also during their free time, children wait for an invite, which is usually read by children in turns or together in the reading corner in the classroom. And the initial reading ability in the Rabiul Awal class at PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School there are 3 children with very good developmental achievements (BSB) and 5 children with developmental achievements developing according to expectations (BSH), then the average achievement of children's development in the Rabiul Awal class PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School is BSH or developing as expected. So the ability to read early in the Rabiul Awal class of PAUD Bina Bangsa Islamic School Serang is mostly already able to master reading skills according to the stages of development of their age so that children are able and ready to start reading.
