Abstract

The objective of this research is to produce a behavioristic counceling model to help students solve the learning anxiety. This counceling model is developed based on behavioristic approach. This research was conducted by using Research and Development. The research procedures was conducted done through the following steps, (1) preliminary study, (2) arranging and developing model,(3)validation rasional model and empirical validation model. The research design used pretest- posttest control group design. The subjects of the research were 192 students of Senior High School in Seberang Ulu II Palembang.The result of the prior study indicated that the students learning anxiety was in the “anxious enough” level. Viewed from the student’s characteristics, the tendency of anxiety appearance, because of psychological conditioning, learning experience that were not enjoyful and lack of self confidence consult with the counceling teacher. Based on the results of the research, it showed that the level of student’s anxiety were decreacing significantly in all aspects and indicator, this model was effective in helping the students to overcome learning anxiety.In conclusion, the behavioristic counceling model can be considered as one of intervension model to help students solve their learning anxiety.
