Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian dengan judul animasi komputer pada pembelajaran hidrokarbon dengan metode inkuiri untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh penggunaan animasi komputer pada pembelajaran hidrokarbon dengan metode inkuiri terhadap peningkatan kompetensi siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dan Kuasi Eksperimen yang dilakukan secara bergantian. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X2 semester 2 di salah satu SMA di Kodya Bandung tahun pelajaran 2004/2005. Penelitian difokuskan pada peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa yang diperoleh dari pretes dan postes, sikap siswa yang diperoleh dari observasi selama proses pembelajaran, keterampilan proses siswa yang diperoleh dari jawaban latihan siswa, dan persepsi siswa yang diperoleh dari hasil angket siswa terhadap proses pembelajaran hidrokarbon dengan metode inkuiri yang menggunakan animasi komputer. Pengolahan data menggunakan uji statistik berupa uji regresi untuk mengetahui signifikansi, persentase dan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji regresi dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 didapat Fh,tung = 16,818, sedangkan Ftabei = 4,14. Karena Fhllunfi >FMtM9 maka terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa pada pembelajaran hidrokarbon dengan metode inkuiri yang menggunakan animasi komputer. Konsep kekhasan atom karbon mengalami peningkatan paling tinggi, dan konsep isomer mengalami peningkatan paling rendah; 2) berdasarkan hasil observasi, sikap siswa, yang berupa sikap ingin tahu (bertanya), sikap teliti (mengerjakan semua latihan dengan benar), sikap berinteraksi (menjawab pertanyaan, menanggapi jawaban teman, dan mengerjakan latihan dengan benar), dan sikap disiplin (mengumpulkan tugas tepat waktu) dapat dikembangkan dengan baik, tetapi kemampuan bertanya dan menanggapi jawaban teman perlu ditingkatkan lagi; 3) berdasarkan jawaban latihan siswa, keterampilan proses siswa yang berupa keterampilan mengkomunikasikan, keterampilan menggolongkan dan keterampilan menerapkan konsep dapat dikembangkan dengan baik; dan 4) berdasarkan analisis angket, diperoleh data persepsi siswa cukup baik. Perlu upaya guru lebih baik lagi dalam upaya menarik minat siswa untuk mempelajari kimia. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini disarankan kepada guru dan lembaga terkait agar pembelajaran dengan menggunakan animasi komputer dan metode inkuiri dijadikan sebagai alternatif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa. ----- It has been done the research entitled computer animation in the learning of hydrocarbon using inquiry method to improve the students' competency, this research aim to know how does the using of computer animation in the learning of hydrocarbon, using inquiry method, influece toward the improvement of student's competency. This research is a kind of descriptive research and experiment quasi which is done by turns. The subject of his research is the students in X2 grade second semester in one of the senior high school in Bandung 2004/2005. This research is focused on the improvement of the understanding of the students obtained from the pre test and post test, the attitude of the students obtained from the observation during learning process, the process skill of the students obtained from the answer of their practice and the perception of the students obtained from the result of the questionairre about the computer animation in the learning of hydrocarbon using inquiry method. The data collection uses statistic test in the form of regression test in order to know the signiflcancy, precentage, and descriptive analysist. The result of the research shows that: 1). according to the result of regression test with the significant level of 0,05. it's obtained that F count= 16,818, while F table= 4,14. Since the F count > F table, so there's a significant influence toward the improvement of students1 understanding to hydrocarbon learning with method inquiri using computer animation, the particular concept of carbon atom has the highest increase and the isomer concept has the lowest increase; 2). according to result of the observation, the students' attitude such as curiousity, carefulness (do all the practice well), interaction (answer the question, respond the friend's answer and do the practice well), dicsipline (collect the assigmnent on time) can be developed well. However, the ability to ask the question and respond the friend's answer need to be improved more; 3). according to the students' answer toward the practice, process skill of the students such as the skill to communicate, to determine, and to apply the concept can be developed well; and 4). according to the questionairre's analysist, it's obtained that the perception of students is quite well. It needs better effort from the teacher to make the student interested in learning chemistry. According to this research, it's suggested to the teacher and related institutions to make the learning by using computer animation and inquiry method be the alternative one to improve the students' competency
