Abstract

Walaupun merupakan sebuah alternatif layanan pendidikan, akhir-akhir ini semakin banyak keluarga yang memilih homeschooling atas keyakinan bahwa jalur ini dapat membawa keberhasilan bagi anak-anaknya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan gambaran bagaimana peserta didik homeschooling menyusun rancangan belajar, proses belajar yang terjadi serta evaluasi atas pencapaian hasil belajarnya sehingga dapat mencapai keberhasilan akademik. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan studi kasus di Komunitas Homeschooling Pewaris Bangsa terhadap tiga peserta didik, tiga orang tua serta dua pengelola komunitas. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumen. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis konten kualitatif menggunakan software Atlas.Ti. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa dalam model belajar pada peserta didik homeschooling terdapat adanya self-regulated learning dan self-directed learning pada peserta didik, mulai dari tahap pembuatan tujuan, target serta strategi belajar yang sesuai kebutuhan, pencarian sumber pembelajaran secara proaktif, sampai tahap evaluasi pencapaian hasil belajar secara mandiri. Model belajar ini terbentuk karena dibina serta difasilitasi oleh orang tua serta lingkungan, dalam hal ini komunitas homeschooling. Kemandirian dalam model belajar ini membuat peserta didik memiliki kemampuan untuk mengarahkan diri, mempunyai motivasi belajar yang tinggi, dan bertanggung jawab terhadap capaian belajar yang mereka lakukan. Hal tersebut merupakan faktor-faktor utama yang menentukan keberhasilan akademik peserta didik sehingga mereka dapat diterima di perguruan tinggi. Kata kunci: homeschooling, model belajar, keberhasilan akademik ABSTRACT Homeschooling Student Learning Model in Achieving Academic Success (Case Study on the Students of the Pewaris Bangsa Homeschooling Community) Sanny Darman (1909932) Despite its status as an alternative education pathway, recently, more families have increasingly been choosing homeschooling for the belief that this pathway can bring success to their children. The purpose of this study is to understand how homeschooling students develop learning plans, do the learning process, and evaluate their learning outcomes achievements that help them in achieving academic success. This research uses a case study of three students, three parents and two community managers from the Pewaris Bangsa Homeschooling Community. Data were collected through interviews, observation and document analysis. This research uses qualitative content analysis performed by Atlas.Ti software to analyze the data. The results of this study find that the learning model for homeschooling students is shaped by the students’ self-regulated learning and self-directed learning process, starting from setting goals, determining targets and the required learning strategies, proactively searching for learning resources, to conducting evaluation. This learning model is the outcome of parents’ and community’s (in this case, homeschooling community) guidance and facilitation. Independence inherent in this learning model enable students to acquire the capacity to lead themselves, have high learning motivation, and assume responsibilities over their learning achievements. The ability to lead oneself, motivation, and a sense of responsibility are the main factors that determine students' academic success that grants them admission to higher education.
