ABSTRAK MERY RAHAYU.(1701654). “IMPLIKASI PEMBELAJARAN JARAK JAUH TERHADAP PEBENTUKAN KARAKTER MANDIRI SISWA (Studi Deskriptif Pada Siswa Kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Luragung)” Abstrak: Pandemi Covid-19 yang tengah melanda dunia ini memberi dampak besar bagi keberlangsungan hidup masyarakat di dunia. Tidak hanya berdampak bagi sektor kesehatan, Covid-19 juga memberi pengaruh pada sektor pendidikan termasuk di Indonesia. Kondisi warga yang diharuskan untuk membatasi aktivitas sosial di luar rumah mendorong Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan mengeluarkan aturan untuk pembelajaran jarak jauh (Learning from Home). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implikasi proses pembelajaran jarak jauh terhadap pembentukan karakter mandiri siswa, kendala proses pembelajaran jarak jauh, dan upaya yang dilakukan sekolah untuk mengatasi kendala pembelajaran jarak jauh. Peneliti menggunakan metode analisis kualitatif dengan studi kasus di SMAN 1 Luragung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian siswa-siswi di SMAN 1 Luragung telah menunjukkan ciri dan aspek karakter mandiri selama proses pembelajaran jarak jauh, mulai dari menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan guru mata pelajaran dengan mandiri dan mampu berpikir dan mengambil keputusannya sendiri saat diberi tugas diskusi studi kasus atau pemecahan masalah. Dari beberapa aspek karakter mandiri, apsek desire for learning merupakan aspek yang sama sekali belum ditemukan dalam siswa-siswi di SMAN 1 Luragung. Kendala yang ditemukan dalam proses pembelajaran jarak jauh di SMAN 1 Luragung adalah kurangnya komunikasi antar orang tua siswa dan pihak sekolah, minimnya fasilitas, dan tidak adanya kesadaran dari dalam diri siswa. Untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, pihak sekolah dapat menyediakan bantuan fasilitas bagi siswa tidak mampu dan melakukan koordinasi dengan orang tua siswa. Kesimpulan yang dapat ditarik dari temuan ini adalah pihak sekolah dan orang tua harus mendukung proses pembelajaran jarak jauh dari segi moral, materi, dan juga fasilitas agar siswa-siswi dapat lebih memaksimalkan pembelajaran jarak jauh yang dapat mendorong karakter mandiri siswa. (1701654). “MPLICATIONS OF DISTANCE LEARNING ON THE CHARACTER OF INDEPENDENT STUDENTS (Descriptive Study in Students of Class XI Of State High School 1 Luragung)" Abstract: The Covid-19 pandemic that is sweeping the world has a big impact on the survival of people in the world. Not only has an impact on the health sector, Covid-19 also has an influence on the education sector including in Indonesia. The condition of citizens who are required to limit social activities outside the home prompted the Ministry of Education and Culture to issue rules for distance learning (Learning from Home). This research aims to examine the implications of the distance learning process on the formation of students' independent character, the constraints of the distance learning process, and the efforts made by schools to overcome distance learning obstacles. Researchers used qualitative analysis methods with case studies in SMAN 1 Luragung. The results of this study showed that some students at SMAN 1 Luragung have shown traits and aspects of independent character during the distance learning process, ranging from completing tasks given by subject teachers independently and being able to think and take their own decisions when given case study discussion or problem solving tasks. From some aspects of independent character, apsek desire for learning is an aspect that has not been found at all in the students at SMAN 1 Luragung. Many of the students still need to be supervised in order to follow distance learning. Obstacles found in the distance learning process at SMAN 1 Luragung are the lack of communication between parents of students and the school, lack of facilities, and lack of awareness from within students. To overcome these obstacles, the school can provide assistance facilities for students who are not able and coordinate with the parents of students. The conclusion that can be drawn from these findings is that the school and parents must support the distance learning process in terms of morals, materials, and facilities so that students can further maximize distance learning that can encourage students' independent character.
