Abstract
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the influence of transformational leadership and motivation on lecturer performance. This research uses descriptive survey and explanatory survey methods. The population in this study were 260 UPI campus lecturers divided into five campuses, namely Cibiru, Sumedang, Purwakarta, Tasikmalaya and Serang. Sampling using the Slovin formula criteria so that the resulting limit of respondents is 156 people. The instrument used by the author is a questionnaire regarding transformational leadership, motivation and lecturer performance. The data collection technique used a cross-sectional technique through the google form media and resulted in questionnaire data from a number of 157 respondents. The data analysis used is a structural equation model (SEM) which includes confirmatory factor analysis (factor analysis) and path analysis (path analysis). For statistical computation, the program Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS) version 23.0 is used. The results of this study conclude: (1) The variables of transformational leadership, motivation, and lecturer performance at the regional campus of the Indonesian Education University are empirical, unidimensional, precise and consistent, the dimensions (clusters) and indicators that are conceptualized can be explained; The level of motivation is positively and significantly influenced by transformational leadership by 16.40%; (3) The level of performance is positively and significantly influenced by transformational leadership by 8.01%; (4) The level of performance is positively and significantly influenced by motivation by 48.86%; (5) The level of performance is positively and significantly influenced by transformational leadership and level of motivation; (6) Transformational leadership has an effect on performance through motivational variables at the Regional Campus of the Indonesian Education University with a weight of 0.281. This means that motivation can act as a variable that mediates the influence of transformational leadership on performance by 8.01%.
