Abstract
Pokok masalah yang menjadi kajian dalam penelitian ini adalah memaparkan hubungan antara penyelenggaraan perpustakaan sekolah dengan minat baca siswa. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua variabel yaitu penyelenggaraan perpustakaan sekolah dan minat baca siswa. Penyelenggaraan perpustakaan diukur melalui indikator promosi perpustakaan, kolaborasi guru dan pustakawan, serta keragaman koleksi perpustakaan. Minat baca siswa diukur melalui indikator kunjungan ke perpustakaan. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah jumlah siswa yang mengunjungi perpustakaan SMA Negeri 4 Bandung pada bulan November 2013, dengan sampel 95 orang yang dihitung berdasarkan rumus Yamane dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampling insidental. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket tertutup dengan skala lima kategori Likert dengan analisis korelasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan hasil analisis data diketahui bahwa hubungan penyelenggaraan perpustakaan sekolah dengan minat baca siswa masuk dalam kategori sedang. Secara garis besar penyelenggaraan perpustakaan di SMA Negeri 4 Bandung termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Hasil pengujian penyelenggaraan sekolah terhadap minat baca siswa menunjukkan indikator kolaborasi guru dan pustakawan dan keragaman koleksi perpustakaan berada pada kategori sedang, sementara indikator promosi perpustakaan berada pada kategori rendah. Hasil penelitian ini merekomendasikan kepada pihak sekolah agar lebih memperhatikan penyelenggaraan perpustakaan sekolah sehingga minat baca di kalangan siswa bisa lebih meningkat. The study consists of two variables; those are the school library management and students reading interest. Library management is measured through indicators of library promotion, teachers librarians collaboration, and the variety of the library collection. Students reading interest is measured through the indicators of the library visit. The population of this study is the number of visitors of SMA Negeri 4 Bandung Library in November 2013, with samples of 95 people calculated based on the Yamane formula. The applied sampling technique is incidental sampling technique. The research uses descriptive method with quantitative approach. Data collection technique uses a closed questionnaire of Likert scale with five categories of correlation analysis. Based on the results of the research and data analysis, it is known that the relationship between school library management and students reading interest belongs to medium category. Generally, the management of the library at SMA Negeri 4 Bandung belongs to the medium category. The test results of the school management toward students reading interest show that indicators of teacher-librarian collaboration and variety of library collections librarians are in the medium category, while indicators of library promotion is at the low category. The results of this study recommend the school to give more attention to the management of the school library so that students reading interest can improve.
