Abstract
Ketunanetraan adalah suatu kondisi dimana indera penglihatan walaupun telah dikoreksi tetapi tetap mengalami gangguan atau kerusakan yang bersifat berat atau ringan sehingga seseorang yang mengalami ketunanetraan tidak dapat secara efektif menggunakan penglihatannya dan membutuhkan metode dan alat khusus dalam proses pendidikan dan pengajarannya.Ketunanetraanakanberdampakterhadap perkembangan kognitifdengan mengidentifikasi keterbatasan-keterbatasan yang mendasar padatingkat dan keanekaragaman pengalaman, kemampuan untuk berpindah tempatdaninteraksi dengan lingkungan. Berdasarkanpengalaman di lapangan, tidaksemuamuridtunanetramemilikikemampuanpenjumlahan yangbaik.Tujuandaripenelitianiniadalahuntukmengetahuipeningkatankemampuanpenjumlahanmuridtunanetrakelas 1 SD di SLB Negeri Pembina Makassar denganmenggunakanmetodejarimatika, khususnyapenjumlahanbilangan yang hasilnyatidaklebihdari 20. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan kasus tunggal atau Single Subject Research (SSR) dengan desain penelitian A-B. Dalam penelitian ini subjek penelitian berjumlah 1 (satu)muridtunanetradengan jenis kelamin laki-laki berusia 10 tahun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek menunjukkan peningkatkan kemampuan penjumlahan. Peningkatan tersebut dapat dilihat daripeningkatanreratapersentaseteskemampuanpenjumlahandari kondisi baseline ke kondisi intervensi. Walaupunkecenderunganarahpadafase baseline danfaseintervensisama-samamendatar, namunreratapersentasepadafase baseline sebesar 20% danreratapersentasepadafaseintervensilebihtinggidari baseline yaitu 40%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metodejarimatikadapatmeningkatkan kemampuan penjumlahanmuridtunanetrayang dalam hal ini penjumlahanbilangan yang hasilnyatidaklebihdari 20. Dari hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadikan rekomendasi bagi guru dan orangtua dalam pembelajaran untuk murid berkebutuhan khusus terlebih bagi muridtunanetra yang kemampuanpenjumlahannyabelummaksimal. Dengan menggunakan metodejarimatikadiharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan penjumlahanbagi muridberkebutuhan khusus terlebih bagi muridtunanetra. Visual impairment is a condition where visions—regardless of correction—continue to experience disorder or damage, either heavy or light, so that someone experiencing visual impairment cannot effectively use his or her vision and needs special method and aid in the process of education and teaching. Visual impairment will impact on the cognitive development as identified byfundamental limitations at the level and diversity of experiences, the ability to move around and interaction with the environment. Based on the experience on the field, not all visually impaired students have a good abilityin addition. The research aimed to find the improvement of ability in additionof visually impaired first grade elementary school students at State Elementary Special Needs School Pembina Makassar using jarimatika method, especially for the addition of numbers that when added equal to no more than 20. The method used in this research was experimental with one single case or single subject research with A-B research design. In this research, there was one visually impaired male student aged 10 years old as the subject. The results of the research showed that the subject demonstrated an improvement in theability of addition. The improvement could be observed from an increase of the average test percentage. Even though the trends in the baseline phase and intervention phase tended to be equally horizontal, the average percentage in the baseline phase was as much as 20%, and the average percentage in the intervention phase was higher, namely 40%. Thus, it can be concluded that jarimatika method could improve the ability of visually impaired students in addition for numbers that are less than 20 when summed. From the results, it is expected that teachers and parents could use the method for special needs children, more specifically those whose ability ofadditionare not maximal yet. Using jarimatika method, it is expected that the ability inaddition of special needs students, especially visually impaired ones, will be improved.
