Abstract
ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penggunaan média pembelajaran dalam suatu prosés belajar mengajar dan adanya anggapan bahwa aksara Sunda sulit untuk dipelajari dan dihapalkan sehingga akan mempengaruhi pada keberlangsungan aksara Sunda sebagai salah satu aset kebudayaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) pengetahuan siswa dalam menulis aksara Sunda dengan menggunakan media strip story yang mencakup kemampuan awal (pra-tes) dan kemampuan akhir (paska-tes); (2) beda signifikansi antara kemampuan awal dan kemampuan akhir siswa dalam menulis aksara Sunda dengan menggunakan media strip story. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan menggunakan one group pretest and posttest group design. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X Saintek 1 Laboratorium Percontohan UPI taun ajaran 2013-2014 yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes uraian terstruktur dengan jenis soal alih aksara. Hasil penelitian menujukan adanya peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis aksara Sunda. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil uji gain. Nilai rata-rata siswa sebelum menggunakan média strip story yaitu 55,25 dan nilai rata-rata siswa setelah menggunakan média strip story adalah 86,25 sehingga menghasilkan gain sebesar 31,0%. Peningkatan kemampuan menulis siswa juga dapat dilihat dari hasil uji hipotésis yang menunjukan thitung (18,4) > ttabél (2,76) artinya bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pembelajaran sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media strip story. Dengan adanya perbedaan kemampuan siswa pada tes awal dan tes akhir dapat disimpulkan bahwa media strip story dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis aksara Sunda. ABSTRACT This research background is importance of the use of instructional media in the teaching and learning process as well as the notion that the Sundanese script is difficult to learn and memorize so that will affect the sustainability of the Sundanese script regarded as one of the cultural assets. This study aimed to describe (1) the knowledge of students in writing Sundanese script using media of strip stories that include the ability of early (pre - test) and the ability of the end (post - test); (2) effectiveness of the media strip story in improving writing skills Sundanese script. The method used in this study is comrehend experimental design with one group pretest and posttest design. Data sources in this research is all of students in class X Saintek 1 Laboratorium Percontohan UPI terms 2013-2014 which amounts to 30 students. The research instrument used a structure description of the types of test questions rather literacy. The results of the study aimed an increase students' skills in writing Sundanese script. It can be seen of the test results. The average value of students before using the media story strip is 55,25 and the average value of students after using the media story strip was 86,25. So the gain is 31,00%. Increasing students' writing skills can also be seen from the hypothesis test results that show tscore (18.4) > ttable (2.76) means that there is a significant differences between the learning outcomes before and after using the media strip story.
