Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 memberikan arah baru pada dunia pendidikan, khususnya pergantian pembelajaran tatap muka menjadi pembelajaran jarak jauh. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh bersamaan dengan informasi yang terus bertambah memberikan kendala tersendiri terhadap siswa dalam melaksanakan perannya sebagai seorang pelajar. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan hasil komparasi teori William Jones dan Teevan (2008) serta Whittaker (2011) oleh Whittaker (2011). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui: 1) Pengaruh manajemen informasi pribadi dalam mengatasi kendala belajar siswa, 2) Proses penemuan informasi, 3) Proses penyimpanan informasi, 4) Proses pengorganisasian informasi, 5) Proses pemeliharaan informasi, dan 6) Proses pemanfaatan informasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan jumlah 89 sampel siswa SMAN 1 Cicalengka kelas X dan XI. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa aktivitas manajemen informasi pribadi siswa tergolong baik, karena siswa mampu melakukan penemuan, penyimpanan, pengorganisasian, pemeliharaan dan pemanfaatan informasi, khususnya pada aktivitas meta-level information atau pemeliharaan informasi siswa yang tergolong sangat baik. Manajemen informasi pribadi dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu solusi dalam mengatasi kendala belajar siswa. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil analisis data yang menunjukan adanya hubungan yang linear serta memiliki pengaruh positif antara manajemen informasi pribadi dengan kendala belajar saat pandemi Covid-19. The Covid-19 pandemic has given a new way to the education area, especially by changing face-to-face learning to distance learning. The implementation of distance learning while increasing information has given any barriers for students to carrying out their roles. This research use comparative results of William Jones and Teevan’s (2008) and Whittaker’s (2011) theories by Whittaker (2011). The purpose was to determine: 1) The effect of personal information management on resolving students learning barriers, 2) The process of finding information, 3) The process of keeping information, 4) The process of organizing information, 5) The process of maintaining information, and 6) The process of exploitation information. This research used descriptive quantitative method with 89 students from SMAN 1 Cicalengka, X and XI classes as samples. The result of this reseach reveal that the activity of personal information management SMAN 1 Cicalengka students in a good level, because they can finding, keeping, organizing, maintaning, and exploiting information. Especially at the meta-level information or maintaning information in a best level from the other activities. Then, the personal information management can be one of any solutions for resolve students learning barriers. From the data analyses explain that there are linear relationship and positive effect between personal information management and learning barriers during the Covid-19 pandemic.
