Abstract
Penelitian tentang kesalahan bicara telah mendapat banyak perhatian dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Namun meski demikian, penelitian tentang kesalahan bicara khususnya pada orang Indonesia yang gagap sebagai responden masih perlu dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi variasi, karakteristik, dan kemungkinan penyebab terhadap kesalahan fonologis pada orang yang gagap. Sebanyak lima video berbeda diambil dari kanal YouTube Ajudan Pribadi Official. Butterworth (1981) teori tentang kesalahan fonologis digunakan sebagai pedoman untuk analisis ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan feature-substitution paling banyak muncul pada ujaran responden dengan 47%, sedangkan kesalahan anticipation hanya 25% dan preservation 16%. Angka terendah ditunjukkan oleh kesalahan pada sound-exchange errors dengan 8% dan kesalahan metathesis dengan 4%. Temuan terhadap karakteristik kesalahan fonologis menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar kesalahan merupakan kesalahan substitusi dengan 42 dari 45 kasus. Mengenai penyebab kesalahan, kondisi kognitif dan kepribadian merupakan penyebab utama yang paling mungkin dalam kasus responden. Kesimpulannya, kondisi kognitif dan kepribadian responden memang berpengaruh terhadap realisasi kesalahan fonologis dalam ujarannya. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang kecenderungan kesalahan bicara khususnya kesalahan fonologis pada gagap. Selain itu, beberapa saran telah diberikan untuk penelitian selanjutnya. Research on speech errors has received attention in recent years. However, studies on speech errors in stuttering using Indonesian participants still need to be done. This study aims to identify the variations, the characteristics, and the possible causes of the phonological errors of a person who stutters. A total of five different videos are taken from the YouTube channel of Ajudan Pribadi Official. Butterworth’s (1981) model on phonological errors was used as the guideline for the analysis. The result showed that feature substitution errors were mostly appeared on the participant’s speech with 47%, while anticipation errors gave only 25% and preservation errors 16%. The lowest number showed by the sound-exchange errors with 8% and metathesis errors with 4%. The finding on the characteristic of the phonological errors showed that most of the errors were substitution errors with 42 out of 45 cases. Regarding the causes of the errors, cognitive and personality styles were the most possible causes in the participant’s case. In conclusion, the cognitive and personality styles of the participant do affect the realization of phonological errors in his speech. This study provides an insight concerning speech errors especially the phonological errors in stuttering. In addition, some suggestions have been provided for further research.
