Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya perilaku menyimpang yang terjadi di didunia maya seiring meningkatnya penggunaan media sosial khususnya di instagram, seperti hate comment, cyberbullying, hoax, penipuan online, insecurity¸dan lain-lain. Perilaku yang menyimpang ini diduga karena kurang memahami posisi diri dan rendahnya kesadaran diri atas emosi, fikiran, perasaan yang dapat mempengaruhi perilaku, sehingga menyebabkan kurangnya pengendalian diri atas perilaku-perilaku yang tidak semestinya. Tujuan penelitian adalah memeperoleh deskripsi mengenai keterampilan self awareness siswa yang memiliki latar belakang sebagai pengguna instagram aktif. Pendekatan yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yakni pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif tipe desain survei. Partisipan penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMAN 15 Bandung tahun ajaran 2020-2021 dengan jumlah 164 siswa. Data sampel didapatkan dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga aspek yakni, emotional awareness, accurate self assessment, dan self confident. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) siswa kelas XI pengguna instagram SMAN 15 Bandung sebagaian besar berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase 86,58% yang artinya memiliki keterampilan self awareness yang cukup, sedangkan siswa dengan kecenderungan self awareness pada kategori tinggi hanya sebesar 12,2 %, serta pada kategori rendah sebesar 1,22 %. (2) peran bimbingan dan konseling dalam meningkatkan self awareness mengusung layanan bimbingan kelompok yang di rangkum dalam rancangan operasional (action plan). Kata Kunci : Self awareness, Instagram, Bimbingan dan Konseling ABSTRACT The research was conducted based on the increasing deviant behavior that occurs in cyberspace along with the increasing use of social media, especially on Instagram, such as hate comments, cyberbullying, hoaxes, online fraud, insecurity and others. This deviant behavior is thought to be due to a lack of understanding of one's own position and low self-awareness of emotions, thoughts, feelings that can affect behavior, causing the lack of self-control over inappropriate behaviors. The purpose of the research was to obtain a description of the self-awareness ability of students who have a background as active Instagram users. This research used a quantitative approach with descriptive method survey design type. The research participants were 2nd grade of SMAN 15 Bandung for the academic year 2020-2021, which includes 164 students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data collection used a self-awareness instrument which consists of three aspects, namely emotional awareness, accurate self-assessment, and self-confidence. The results of the study show that: (1) most of the students of 2nd grade who active in using Instagram at SMA Negeri 15 Bandung are in the medium category with a percentage of 86.58% which means they have sufficient self-awareness abilities, while students with a tendency for self-awareness in the high category are 12.2%, and in the low category are 1.22%. (2) the role of guidance and counseling to increase self-awareness carrying out group guidance services which are summarized in the action plan.
